Hey guys I'm in Australia right now Carnes to be exact and wanted to know of some good places to eat in Ayers, Melborne, and Sydney. Also what is the normal price for a meal here? I'm having trouble finding anything less than $30 dollars and back in the states in TN $30 dollars will get you a fantastic meal. Everyone we've met so far has been extremely nice.

 

I am on the Gold Coast, at the southern end of Queensland.
Cairns is a tourist destination and the prices reflect that, unfortunately. Make sure you get out to the Atherton Tableland and do the Kurunda trip.
If you consider the prices in Cairns are high, wait until you get to Alice Springs and Ayres Rock.
In Sydney and Melbourne the prices should be a little cheaper. Do all the tourist things but try to eat where the locals eat.
Hope you enjoy your stay, there's a lot to see but it is expensive.

 

we are going to cairns next sept for a week then moving on to townsville where my brother has emigrated to.
