Parts and Service in Oz
A call to Crossfire owners in Oz. I'm in Sydney and having only recently purchaced my baby I am finding parts and service quite expensive.
I hit a small fury animal on the M4 at speed recently and popped the fog light back into the spoiler, broke the three plastic lugs. The quote from Chrysler was $450AU for one, yet on the US sites they are $133US, which with the current ex. rate makes it almost half the price to buy 2 and ship them out here. I have made a bracket myself and it will get me by until I buy a pair.
I need to replace a fuel sensor to get rid of the pesky engine light and they are stinging me $750AU for the pleasure, at least this will be covered under waranty.
Can I take my car to a Merc. dealer for repairs on the engine, if so does anyone do this already in Sydney and where.
Also I have enquired at a few US sites about parts as I am after the boot replacement for the cup holder and a set of lock nuts for the wheels and they are not replying to my emails about shipping. The chrysler dealer in sydney didn't know what the cup holder replacement was. Can anyone reccomend a US site that will happily ship to AUS?.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers
Brett

How Sad, I have to reply to my own Post. To anyone in Australia who wants to buy parts at a reasonable price can I reccomend
They are extremely helpful and their parts are 1/3 the price you will pay in Australia, [watch the exchange rate though www.xe.com]. Express delivery was $40US for <1kg ordered so this may get a bit expensive once the exchange rate goes back up. I ordered the replacement cup holder bin for $29.90US which Crysler Chatswood wanted to charge me $111AUD. I bought other small parts as well and they were just as cheap.
You will need to ring them to give your payment details the first time, though after this you can just use the online store. Thourougly reccomended.

With the strenght of the american dollar at the moment thats almost tempting. The cheapest one over here is 32000AUD which is 29000USD. So I can almost buy 2 for the price of one from the US. Bar the left hand drive it would be good for parts.

Only wish I had the money

No Probs.. Good to hear from another Aussie.... You only live 3,877 km's away so I guess a cruise day is out of the question. Thought I would google maps just how far it was. The best direciton point was "Turn right to stay on Eyre Hwy Go through 1 roundabout Entering Western Australia" for a mere 1,423 km's. One roundabout and thats it......
I have never travelled the across the Nulabour. I would hate to get a flat in the Crossfire out there.
I love this big country of ours.....
