The time has come
The time has come
Well I write this with much regret as the time has come to part with my beloved Crossfire.
I've been mulling it over for a while now with the bay coming and the thought of playing musical cars in the winter with 5 cars in the driveway has forced my hand.
I'm looking into a 2007 Infiniti G35X as my replacement. I'm truly saddened as I've seemed to have spent more on the car this year then any of my previous years of ownership. If I pull the trigger I'll be removing my Sprint Booster, Ansa Exhaust, Alpine Radio, CAI, 74mm Throttle Body, Mercedes First aid kit, HID's and whatever else I can and put her back to stock.
There was no pressure from the Mrs to do this, and while I'm sure there may be many regrets (especially our get togethers) I feel it's something I have to do.
I'll keep you all posted as to what happens and when my little girl arrives.

If so, I am interested in the 74mm TB and the NeedsWings CAI

Come now, do you too have to be reminded that this is not one of those big buck SRT-6 cars.......a somewhat rare breed. AND, he is stripping all the good stuff off the Xfire and putting back to stock!
Maybe it's just my way to say that I think he will be sorry; we all have our priorities in life and a new, young family member could not be more special; I was there, did that and can't imagine what life would have been like if I sold my '73 Corvette as a sacrifice for the child. Of course, those were the days when car seats were almost unheard of, the child could ride shotgun with mother in the passenger seat..........not anymore!
I have come across countless sports car enthusiasts in my travels who have said that they wish they had never got rid of that 'car' back when, because it is a lot harder getting another one later in life than keeping the one you got now..........especially at the price, I'm willing to offer (just kiddin' about the price);
Clyde.........just be sure of what you want to do here...............why you will have 5 vehicles taking up driveway space, I don't know..........but surely there must be other alternatives?
Re: The time has come
OK so let me understand.... I'm easily confused
Your lowball offer was really to help him to reconsider selling the car?
Maybe Sean will decide how much he needes for the car with/without mods.
I've seen this car at several of our gtg's and it is beautiful and tastefully modded.

Re: The time has come
Thanks for the kind words Steve. You couldn't have said it any better. I do love my car, and I already know it will be missed.
I wish I could hold on to it and purchase the new 4 door family mobile, but it's just not in the cards for me.
It will be a great car for the next owner as I meticulously maintained her and never beat on her (unless she asked for it!) I already took off the cold Air, and Catch can and can notice a big difference with the stock air box back on her.
I will have to tend to agree with you Steve that I will be back!

Re: The time has come
Sorry about the Crossfire but glad you have a good excuse. Congrats on the future addition -much more important than a car. I know you will check in and you can come back with your Movember moustatche and I will gladly support you!
Thanks for your help and support Sean.

Re: The time has come
So it has official........my Crossfire was traded in on Friday Afternoon for my Infiniti G35x on the same Day my little girl arrived!
My girlfriend went into labor on Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm and Ms Peyton Melissa Hamilton came into the world on August 12th 2011 @ 9:43am weighing in at 7 lbs 2 oz.
The dealer gave me $12000 for the car and on the website they are selling it for $13,489. I had to leave my Ansa Exhaust and Mandrus wheels on it as I did not have the time to remove either with my daughters arrival!
The G35x is quite the machine although it doesn't quite meet up to the looks of the Crossfire. I did manage to get the Needswings CAI with K&N extreme filter and power steering relocation kit, 74mm throttle body, selectable sprint booster for a manual transmission, and all my LED's and Alpine Deck which most of the above will be put up in the for sale section very soon!
I've had my hands full these past few days and will be posting pics of my little angel and new car soon!
As Sparkie said...... I'll be back

Congrats....yes, you will be back, but take your time...my kids were teenagers when I returned to a sports car, only to sell it again for college...college is over for 3 boys and I came back strong this time...lol Enjoy her, they grow up way too quick...she should always come first....
