Default OEM or Illegal

Was cruising the interweb this afternoon, and found this.

Does any one know if this is real and or how it is going to impact the fun that we have with our cars.

As long as you keep your car safe there will be no issue. The people removing/altering safety components of their car and getting killed because of it is causing this over reaction about aftermarket parts.

My guess would be the mother blamed her son's jetta for his accident.

Yeah-we're getting used to the over-reach of our government, too.

Best of luck...

I'm curious-has the ministry shown a need for this set of laws? A number of fatalities or massive accidents caused by modifications? (I did not use the term "dangerous for cause).

Was there something that precipitated this?

Or, like the US government: are they just bored?

In the US they have 'Lemon' laws, up here we have the 'Tough *****, you purchased one of them' laws, this means you have no back up if you buy a lemon.
