Just in case you don't want those damn headlights on all the time - this switch will allow you to only run your markers and "brow" lights up front...

What exactly is this switch? Is it the american version of the head light switch?

 

Exactly - American version of headlight switch. It is a complete unit that you can just plug into your dash and it will leave your headlights off until you turn the switch on yourself. It just adds the "cool" factor to your ride.
