WooooHoooo!!! 2nd Place
Well, I participated in the Mopar Mini Nationals in Garland this weekend. I was pretty bummed that they did not follow the rules they told me when inquiring about the show. I was told that all the new Chargers, Challengers among others were not going to be in the same class as the Crossfire. Not that I have a problem with those awsome cars, I wanted to compete against more similar vehicles to mine. The day of the show, they put us all together which made a large class of some very nice cars. Some were driven frequently and some hardly ever. Since I drive almost daily, I figured I didn't have much of a chance. The other thing I did not know is it was more of a concourse type judging where you drove your car under a tent where five judges picked your car apart. Every aspect for interior, exterior, trunk and engine compartment. Heck they even asked people to check their glove box.
Anyway, it was a two day show and I am very pleased to say that I represented the fellow Crossfire owners well with a second place among good competition.

Great job! Nothing wrong with a silver medal especially with that number of vehicles present!! I'd be proud!

Thanks guys, the only disappointing thing comes to mind is that there were no other Crossfires at the show nor did I see any during the 160 mile round trip. At least everyone at the show was reminded of this unique automobile.

Congrats buddy! That baby was CLEAN!!!! I stopped by and saw Steve and his competition and 2nd place is a huge deal! I wish you lived closer to me so I could drop my SRT off at your house for a week or two and let you clean mine up! LOL~

I was very pleased. You missed some of the best cars that showed on Sunday only. They judged both days. I wish I had more time to talk but besides sweating my butt off, I had to give the car another once over before judging.
I think I will pass on this weekends events at Ennis but if you go, I will be looking forward to your results.

Outstanding Steve and awesome presentation of the XF. Be very proud of your results. I have entered several shows and judges have a difficult time classifying our gem. The result is to just put us in with other Mopars. I have been judged as a "domestic", an "import" a "sports car", a 'copue", etc. The funny thing is we always win sonething. Again, great job buddy.
There is cleaning and there s cleaning. You must have the patience of a saint. How much time does it take to get ready for and event like that? You must garage it for aweek or more?
Congratulations, I'm glad you are on the Mopar side.

It took two and a half weeks of diligent effort. Two full days just on the engine compartment and that was starting with what most would be considered very clean. I used a buffer with an orange pad worth about 18 hours then I applied 5 coats of wax a couple days apart from each other to let it cure somewhat. Only 3 hours on the interior.
Rubbing and scrubbing till my fingers just about fell off.

There were many people that didn't even know what kind of car it was. Out of three shows, I have taken two seconds. This was the most intense regarding the judging. All in all, it was a fun weekend.
Thanks,
Steve
