Halloween Classic at Summit Motorsports Park
Dart was sponsoring the Halloween Classic this week at Summit Motorsports Park (formerly known as Norwalk Dragway) and asked us to come along and show off the coatings. We were happy to make the trip down there and show off the Crossfire. There was a bunch of interest in the car throughout the day and apparently i missed a few of you guys that came into the Dart tent asking where i was. We spent most of the day either at the starting line (with the ear plugs in) or up in Dart's suite at the top of the stands. I would have very much liked to compete in the event and after seeing what cars were running in the bracket classses we would have been competitive but i couldnt take a week off work to do so as we would have had to begin qualifying last monday.
they were only running 1/8 mile yesterday and the quickest passes we saw were in the 3.90 @ 190mph range. If you havent felt a 2400hp dragster launch 20 feet away from you i would highly recommend it, the ground shakes
I have never been able to get that close to a true top fuel car at the starting line but that is next on my list.
