The xfire won it's first car show award yesterday at the 2013 Northern Kentucky University Car Show and Road Rally. Last week without much effort and at the last minute I took the car to a show and while the car looked decent the engine bay was obviously a weak spot. I spent a couple hours this past week cleaning and detailing in there and decided to give it another try. This time she won one of the Top 30 awards here are some pic, enjoy.

Congrats. I was at Moparpalloza in Tyson Virgina this past weekend. Won my first Top 30 as well (out of 400 cars). Out club won 2 top 30 and then in category top SRT6 as well. Not bad for a show of 400 and a club of 7 Crossfires.................

 

Congrats, I was just at a show and the most "recent" car to win an award was a 1986.. clearly there was a bias

 

Old car shows generally favor old cars with awards. A car just dragged off the assembly line gets no votes. LOL

Thanks everyone, and congrats PNA on your win and the club wins. Way back in 1986 I bought a brand new Dodge Daytona Turbo Z and started showing it right away. I didn't care if I won any awards but, I did hear a lot of people comment in a negative way because it was to new. Now a days new cars are a common sight at shows. A practice that I am more than happy to take credit for Thank You very much. lol

Yes, as I've said before, a lot of bias exists, which is why I am generating a How to Judge a Car Show pamphlet. The biggest mistake is not awarding the effort involved, whether it is in maintaining original condition on a classic or customizing a newer car, Most judges DO NOT know enough about the cars ie. what is stock and what is not.
