Default Big $$ Car Show in N.E. Ohio on 9-14-14

La Macchina Molto Bella Car Show, Todaro's Party Center

I attended this show last year and was blown away. I've never seen so many $1,000,000+ cars at one car show.
I think there was nearly 15 or 20 vintage Ferraris alone. Lots of the finest examples of sports cars, Muscle Cars, and just about any other models you can think of. The cars attending are by invitation only, most are the cream of the crop.
The photos in the ad doesn't do it justice.
It takes place on a golf course in the Cuyahoga Valley just north of Akron Ohio. Entrance to the "Free" show is behind Todaro's Party Center, 1820 Akron Pininsula rd. Akron, Ohio 44313. Some beautiful winding roads to enjoy while traveling thru the valley as well.
There's plenty of great Italian food available, and I believe there is a bar too.
If you live anywhere within a one or two hour drive from the N. Eastern Ohio show, I promis you won't be dissapointed.
There is "Special interest" car parking just outside the entrance of the show. (That's where we parked last year).
Hope to see some of you there.

Going right by there on Tuesday or Wednesday next week, just a few days too early. Coming back from the falls,
wife wants to see some Amish stores.

Thanks for the tip! We are in Toronto right now. The Crossfire is doing well, getting 29.5 mpg. Haven't seen another one yet.

I highly recommend this restaurant since you're going to be in the general area.

Der Dutchman Restaurant of Walnut Creek, Ohio

Not sure what your time line is, but they have a beautiful Inn right next door. Check out the Carlisle Inn from the ad. (Usually they are all booked up during the Fall Colors season, but that hasn't started yet).

It's a really a beautiful rural area, and the restaurant sits on top of a big hill that looks out over the surrounding farms.

Do you live near Wooster Mike? We are getting closer and closer to expanding dealers in that area. I was just west of Cleveland last week and near Lexington Friday. That line from Lexington straight North to Cleveland is getting hot. We are building a place near London. We are in the OHIO valley straight south of Columbus all the way to the river. So half of the state is covered so far...working on the Eastern half now. OHIO roads are not my thing in the semi but I am getting a lot of knowledge for future car trips for sure.

Doc we live exactly 12 miles East of Akron's Interstate 77, just off Rt.224.
It takes us about an hour to get to Wooster.
We use to go to "The Barn" restaurant in Wooster, check it out the next time you're in the area. Great salad bar. (Easy parking for a semi).

This sounds perfect weather permitting I'll be out! Any idea on what a good time to get there is? I might consider driving out Saturday and make a weekend out of it.

Jerrid, I think the show officially starts at 10:00 or 10:30AM.
I think it's supposed to rain on Saturday, and they're predicting partly sunny day on Sunday with temps in the mid 60's.
I never thought about what I'd do in Akron for 2 days.
It was a good show last year, but I don't know if it was "overnight" good. I guess what I'm saying is, if they charged a reasonable entrance fee to see the cars, I'd pay it, but personally, I wouldn't spend any money to stay the night in Akron.lol
Now Cleveland, maybe. It has the Rock & Role Hall of Fame, a couple casinos, lot's of good places to eat, and clubs with good entertainment for young people, and it's only about 25 minutes from the show.
I just don't want ya to make the 3 hour drive (one way) and be disappointed.

Turns out the honey do list is going to take up much of my Saturday anyway I'm an avid golfer so I'd have no problem keeping busy just in that area thanks for the heads up though! If all goes to plan I should see you Sunday!

Jerrid I left the house this morning before 8:00 AM, I just got home a few minutes ago and read your post.
I thought I had your phone # saved in my cell, but it turns out I didn't. I was walking around looking at all the cars, when I saw yours in the parking lot, so went back and sat behind my car for about 15 or 20 minutes hoping that you would walk by. Then I got up with a note with my # on it and went back over to the parking lot and you had already left.
Sorry I missed you, especially after you travelled all that way. I hope you enjoyed the exotics.
I wonder how many millions of dollars of cars there were on that golf course today.
I didn't get an exact count, but I think there were well over 300+ cars on the show feild, and to be painfully honest, I think mine was in the worst condition.
Except for an "original" trashed out lookin 57 Vette, but hey, they're only "original" once.
Again, sorry I missed ya.
Mike

Not a big deal the cars were awesome! That McLaren was the last car I expected to see along with the Morgan I didn't think that any Morgan's were in the states! I wish I could have seen a few of them make some noise I've never heard a diablo take off. The e type jag will make your neck hair stand up! Such a wide variety of cars and so many exotics if I'm still in pa next year I will be back! Thanks for the invite/info!

Since I was there early, I got to see and hear nearly every exotic drive right by where I was parked. I stayed to about 4:00 P.M. and many started to leave by then, when they pulled out onto the street they layed into it. Now I love the sound of "American Muscle" but some of those Lambo's, Ferrari's, and Maserati's just sound down right NASTY. I mean they SCREAM. Totally different sound than any American V8 or V10 I've ever heard.
I don't know if I'll be invited back next year or not, but my car sort of stood out like a sore thumb in the "Chrysler" class I was in. Did you notice the line of Mopars I was in ranged only from 1957 to 1970?
I was smack dab in the middle of all those Pentastars.lol and nobody said one word to me.
I think I'll try to get into the "German" car class next year if they ask me to come back.
If my car is going to be "snubbed, it might as well be done internationally.lol

Yes I did and even my girl friend said something about it pretty terrible placement but in all honesty they didn't have a big German presence other than porsche. Does Akron have a track of some kind? A lot of the cars had very very soft tires on and many were drivers cars. I got the feeling many of them spend a lot of time on the track.

Mid-Ohio (about an hour and half down RT.71 south). Great sports car track.

You're right, there were very few German cars there.
It seemed like every year Corvette was represented, same goes for the Mustang. But there were no "newer" Chrysler products on the course. Vipers, Challengers, or Prowlers. So I guess I should feel very honored (and I do) that I was invited.
This is only the 2nd. year for the show, so I'm sure as time goes on, they will get things better sorted out, and even more cars will attend.
Another thing, it's an awards free zone, just display only. So there should be no "Ego's" they need to contend with.
Even though none of the owners of the older Mopars (where I was parked) acknowledged my car, It did get a pretty fair amount of attention from the crowds walking by. I received a lot of nice comments on my hood, and even though I rebadged my car, everybody new it was a Crossfire.
