Default Looking to buy

I have lurked long enough and like what I have read and the cars that I have seen. I am looking for a Crossfire to take me on a long planned road trip as well as many weekend runs up the coast. I was told to check out Crossfire a few years back but foolishly disregarded to suggestion and became side tracked with other less fun models. I have been reading here on the forum the different posts in many threads and was very impressed with the tone and helpfulness of the posts. One of the values of buying specialty cars is the support group and I sense that what you have here is a good thing.
My search is rather open ended for now as I continue to upgrade my knowledge of the Crossfire. My timeline is before Dec.1. Advice is always appreciated.

Do you know what you are specifically looking for i.e. SRT-6, Roadster, Coupe, color, price range? This will help us to give you more detailed advice. Welcome to the forum, and to future perma-grin country.

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm looking for a standard transmission in a roadster. So I already know that cuts an SRT out of the picture, by the way what was the thinking behind an SRT without a stick?

My two cents on the question........

Automatic can be "tuned". Human error on stick shifting can be eliminated when getting the MAX performance out of an engine. Now a days at the drags you'll find allot of cars with auto shifters.

Gfalcone has it about right. Also, don't think MB had a Manual tranny than would bolt up AND takee the torque /HP of the AMG SC engine.

Sad as that is why i'm in an NA.
But a Roadster.
Only way to go.

Thanks for the Kudos on this Forum. These cars are an incredible value for the price right now. But only if you have support. Factory support is awful, so making friends here will save you thousands in dollars and headaches.

Money and energy you can then spend having a really good time.

Welcome and good luck in your search.

roadster with a stick

"the way it should be"

Thanks guys for the insights. I am certainly tempted by the uniqueness and power of the SRT6 which still keeps me in a roadster.
My colour of choice is white does anyone know how many Crossfires were produced with each colour? I am thinking that I may not want to wait long enough for a white SRT roadster with low miles to surface.

The white is actually called Alabaster. An absolutely beautiful color, but it is not available in an SRT. The SRT Roadsters are available in Aero Blue Pearl Coat, Black, Graphite Metallic, and Sapphire Silver Blue. I have a black one that I love, but if I were to buy another one, I would want an Aero Blue. The Aero Blue is stunning on the SRT Roadster.

Here is a picture of HCarters beautiful Aero Blue SRT Roadster:

Well that is another knock on my priority list no Alabaster in an SRT. Well I still have a roadster on my list just not a stick or Alabaster.
You're right about the stunning appearance of the Aero Blue.
Thanks for the photo.

I use Adam's Polishes with a Porter Cable 7424 XP orbital polisher.

Besides the lack of color choices, they come with that big ugly spoiler. Only kiding. I too am looking for a low mileage stock SRT. That will complete my set of roadster, coupe and SRT. If anyone sees one or knows of one please email me. Thanks.

Color is not that big a deal BUT condition and mileage is.

The use of a mechanical polisher sure seems to make a diff with the appearance. I have always simply used the Strongarm polisher that I was built with, but this Porter Cable idea is great.
Your black SRT certainly has got my attention.

Thanks for the heads up about the St.Louis cars. I notice that there are more black than any colour, is that the case or have I just come across a crop of black Crossfires?

tighed1 put a bounty out on all black cars, so people are unloading them like crazy....they don't want DJ on their trail....so, there are some great deals on black roadsters right now.....you need to thank tighed1 one for the low prices....but if you buy black, beware of tighed1...alias DJ....he's one tough cookie....
