Default Mildly considering selling my 2004 13K miles

I have got the bug a bit, and have been looking into 2009+ SLK 350. They seem to be everything my car is plus some features and the retractable hard top. More toys, much more power, stuff like that.
I would like to know if anyone out there is interested in a low mile 6sp. 13K miles, and it had 5,600 on it last June. Stock +radio, new rear tires, and fresh oil change. Alabaster White with Cedar interior. I have some pictures in my gallery
pioneer4x4's Albums - Crossfireforum
I paid close to $14,000 last summer, and realize I drove several thousand of that away already, but it is still one of the lower mileage ones you will see for less than $13,000 or so.
This is just something I was kicking around, not because of anything wrong with it or Crossfires in general, it is because of it and them, that I looked to even newer Mercedes sports coupes. I never really considered them that much before.

Well I looked at 1 SLK today. It was a SLK300 and drove nice, wasn't equipped as I wanted, and I may drive 4-5 hours away tomorrow to look at 3 more in states without blue laws.

SLKs are very nice. Also, good luck with the sale.

My Crossfire is gone, now in Virginia. I got a 2005 SLK350. Not as low miles as my Crossfire but under 40k and looks great. Every option except Sport package. It feels noticeable larger but is only 1-2" in width and length. It was 74 degrees on the way back so I drove the first 140 miles top down in February! FWIW the "air scarf" is neat but not that impressive.

Sorry to see you leave for the mother ship.
Are you really leaving, or will you stick around ?

Congratulations, what color? They are very sharp looking cars. Enjoy your new ride.

Nice article on them: Curbing the Stability Control Congrats on a slightly new car with more power. 268hp 3.5 is not bad at all for that year.

You get the 6 speed or Auto? There is a local 06 SLK 350 with less then 40k for under $19k asking price. Sharp cars

Pioneer4x4,
I find myself in a similar boat - my son's Crossfire (nee R170) got me hooked, and an R171 would one-up him a bit! Finding a manual is a challenge. Looked at a salvage-title beater 2005 SLK280 (black/beige, auto, $6k) but decided I'd pay for a nicer one. Read about my adventure here: I'm about an inch away...from R171 fun. - Mercedes Benz SLK Forum Currently shopping to see if I can find a decent one (stick, without a boring black interior) around $12k. Tell us about yours and your deal!

And I'm still considering this one. Read about the 2016 Focus RS in Car & Driver - 350HP and 3400lbs. Sure, you get a couple more doors and AWD, but shocking how advanced power/weight the SRT-6 was/is. Still internally at war over SRT-6 vs. stick Roadster, for daily driver enjoyment.

I will try to be around a lot, but who knows. The Mercedes forums are similar, but a different crowd, I will have to try to catch up on them now. Feel free to PM me.
I got a 2005 SLK350 auto 7sp in Caspian Blue with 2 tone beige interior.
It has every option except the "AMG Sports Package"
It has:
"Trim Package" (wood trim)
"Heating Package" (seats, and airscarf!)
"Lighting Package" (BiXenon & Headlight washers)
"Comfort Package" (Memory Seats both sides & power memory column & mirrors (with parking tilt))
"Premium Package" (Homelink, Rain sense wipers!, auto climate control, IR Roof control from outside, auto dim inter & exterior mirrors...)
"Entertainment Package w/DVD Navigation" (COMAND with Nav radio screen, CD Changer in glovebox, Harmon Kardon Sound System)
"Automatic 7 speed Transmission"

I went with a 2005 instead of the Face-Lift 2009 for a couple reasons. I really wanted the high power 2009+ (300ish), but the color, features, price, condition, and miles (38,000) made this the one I wanted. And after driving it a bit, the 268hp SLK350 is very quick, noticeable more than my Crossfire. From a couple tests, it seems slightly quicker then the 2006 Charger R/T I had. The top is amazing as well. The interior is similar, but many more toys, and actually much more seating room. I would guess 3" extra for combined head and leg room, mainly head which means you can sit more upright and get more leg room. Plus my wife actually put the 2nd key in her purse. She never even touched the key for the Crossfire, mainly because of the 6p manual.
It is probably %95 all extra features, I do miss the "Man Pedal" a bit, not much, and I REALLY miss the active spoiler! I can't see how the SRT6 guys live without it ;-)

Day 1

Really Nice !
But I still prefer the Crossfire. ( except I wish it had your top )
When people see your car, they think "another retired country club guy having his mid-life crisis",
when they see the Crossfire, they think "what the heck is THAT ! "

I agree on most of that. The Crossfire driving position is unique, and the look, especially from the back is one of the best. The SLK is a little more mainstream in both, but the front is better looking, and the back is boring. The roof is excellent. I am probably one of an extremely rare group of guys with a SLK and a 1967 El Camino (also very dark blue). The El Camino will be getting much more attention now, the only thing I can think of for the SLK is a modern audio/nav system someday. I think the 17" wheels and tires are a much more practical fit even if not as bold as the 18&19s on the Crossfire.

Thanks! It was 74 degrees and sunny as you can tell, I was pleased to drive in Pennsylvania with the top down in February. I wasn't sure what the color would look like in person, and loved it. In shadow and dark, it looks almost black. The interior is darker than it looks, the sun washed it out in that picture. It is a light beige, and the leather is great, but the plastic door panels need cleaned a bit better.

I will have to gather all of my remaining Crossfire stuff to sell, preferably to someone local.

Yeah... That is how it worked out. I was going back and forth, really wanted a 382 SRT8 Charger, probably a 2012, then decided that my El Camino is the muscle, and I REALLY liked the sports car drive in the Crossfire and wanted a little more. Then with my wife and daughter approving it all fell together.

Yeah, I like blue. My first new car ever was dark blue metallic. 1988 LeBaron Turbo Midnight or Twilight Blue.
I have 3 Blue cars now, the SLK, a 2013 SRX in Glacier Blue, and my 1967 El Camino is Deepwater Blue, it is a VERY dark blue, darker than the SLK.
