Default 2005 Crossfire SRT6 Conv, complete car, non running

Gang, I purchased the car after a light or moderate front end accident in 2013 and restored the car over the next year. I had a rebuilt title issued and drove it for 500 miles, then a complete electronic failure (skreem module at a minimum). Troubleshot it and neglected it for many year and left it outside to the elements. The first picture is the car after the restoration and repaint. The second picture is where it stands today (inoperable, under carport, after multiple years of sitting outside). Car is complete. Motor and car have a little over 30k miles on it. Paint job is crazed (clear coat probably didn't have any UV inhibitor). Body panels are straight, clean, and undamaged. See my gallery for additional pictures (including picture of car as it arrived with accident damage).

Need to sell the car to make room for other projects. Willing to sell as a whole car, but will consider parting it out at some time.

I'm going to list it on local Craigslist shortly. Looking for whole car offers first. Car is located in Melbourne, FL.

I'm going to try to let the market set the price, which is difficult. If you are interested, please get in touch, ask questions, and make an offer.

Thanks much, Mark

Could be a great project car. I'm just too far away.

It would/could have been. I spent about $14k and a few hundred hours resurrecting the thing and got 500 miles of fun. Then it fell apart. The sad thing is that in its current state, it will draw almost no interest except in parts. It could be an interesting project, and has good bones. The computer heart of these things aren't for the faint of heart.

Thanks for your comment. It could be neat, if you are nearby, and are resourceful. The engine can be sold, and the car needs an engine transplant. Its still interesting. I'm just exhausted and will end up about $12k poorer.

On the upside, this was my fifth light accident, low mileage, interesting car that I brought back to life. Four of them where enjoyable and made entertainment and economic (sort of) sense. This one buried me, but was fun.

I still have a 1960 MGA, 1954 MGTF (project), 1957 Studebaker Silverhawk (light restomod), 1978 Lil Red Truck, and 1976 Datsun 280z to finalized and have fun with. I'll be overwhelmed with these, the Crotchfire has to go. It could have been great fun, it just wasn't.

Will the engine run when fixed. Do toy have all the trim pieces. Is the top good. Back window not falling out or glued.

I had a 1961 MGA, Datsun 240Z and Two Hawks as well as others through the years. The one I wish I had kept has always been the MGA. It was all original and had the removable hard top, leather driving cover, where only the driver seat was open, and a hand crank to start the engine if the starter failed.

Back window bond to convertible top is broken (uncluded). I think all trim pieces are there and in good shape. Got the car started today, but will only run for a half second, then shuts down. Will repeat start two or three times, shutting down each time. Cycle power from battery and will repeat.

So engine will run, but something is imobilizing the car.

Not sure what the problem is. Unless someone is clever and wants to take a chance, it might become a parts car.

We tried a known good RCM today. Same condition, then switched back to original, same condition. Still troubleshooting.

Tried a known good RCM today, then back to the original. Same situation. One or two attempts at starts (less than 1 second), then engine dies. Will restart two or three times, then nothing. Cycle battery power, then it repeats.

Those are the bad SKREEM symptoms, NOT the RCM.

Definitely the symptoms of a failed SKREEM module. See >>>Skreem failure symptoms and repair that works

Gang, First picture is shortly after I bought it (6 or 8 years ago). Put some local miles on the truck, then let it sit outside in the elements for two or three years. Been garaged since then. Paint is faded and crazed. Put a new carburetor on it and in process of getting it road worthy again. Will probably sell it fairly soon because I have too many projects.

Mark from Melbourne.

Congratulations on the sale. I am sorry it did not turn out as you hoped.

The cost of that short period you got to enjoy it has lots in common with some marriages.
