I will not buy a car w a K&N fiilter. Some OEM will not allow k&n because they let in too large a particle. Put the stock filter back on so people like me might buy it. This is so low miles hopefully there is no damage.

I always wonder about a seller who does not think it important to mention whether the transmission is automagic or manual.

I do love the alabaster/vanilla combination, if not so much the automatic trans. A bit more $ than I wish to spend...at least the buyer may be assured that bystanders will know the model of this unusual car.

Another of those posts without a conclusion other than learning from the title what attracts views. 45,070. That is an impressive number.

Here's a great lighted manual shift knob I installed on my car. Great improvement in looks and shifting into reverse :

Re: FS 2005 Alabaster Roadster 21,300 Miles
Glad I found this thread. There is info in this thread that needs to be "gleened" out of the thread and stickied. I am going to bookmark the page because I am going to perform the IC pump upgrade soon (it's on the shelf) and because I am about to perform a pressure test on the cooling system to help find a coolant leak that I must have. I hope it is not the intercooler.

Re: FS 2005 Alabaster Roadster 21,300 Miles
My 2 cents,
I have to say after reading this thread, my SRT6 only has the Eurocharge tune and IC pump upgrade after the original failed. I noticed a difference right after the tune. Smoother power through the rpms and it seem noticeably more powerful. I do not like the K&N air filters because they do allow larger particles in the engine. There are studies demonstrating this and i would rather sacrifice longevity for power any day. I live in Arizona so we have more dust particles in the air here than most places. The smaller supercharger pulley should be a great upgrade from what my many hours of reading, but the intake on these cares are pretty restrictive so that is why many do the CAI upgrade. If i can find a K&N filter style with smaller diameter pores, i would consider this upgrade, and I could just change it the the low restriction filter on track days. Now if only i could get traction... I have a NA Limited Roaster as well, and have the EC tune, larger throttle body and MAF housing. What a difference between stock and now! I did my tune in increments. I first got the Eurocharge tune. Power was noticeably smoother and i could feel a little more power. After i did my 74mm throttle body upgrade, i saw the car truly come to life. More instant power, a lot more mid-range torque Also, there is no longer a delay in gas pedal that plagued the NA. Sounds a little better too. I am now wondering if the larger throttle body for the NA made such a difference, would it help the SRT6 without the CAI? Any one do the mod on here? |
Re: FS 2005 Alabaster Roadster 21,300 Miles
I recently had the pesky leak repaired on the breather covers and valve covers (both sides) and was told that if I had to endure another repair that the breather and or valve covers would have to be replaced as they have corroded badly and pitted. Any advice on replacement valve covers/breathers?

Re: FS 2005 Alabaster Roadster 21,300 Miles
Did that take care of the leak ? If so it should last a long time. If not I have a set of complete valve covers if your interested they came of of my 07 roadster with 35K on them. I bought another pair painted. and sealed. I believe needswings.com have them available at this link : http://needswings.com/teflon-coated-...s-32l-mercedes
