First eggs now somone tried to BREAK INTO my car.
Well a week and a half after the egg incident, I was in San Francisco. I had my car in a parking garage. I come back to find two deep gouges right under my drivers window. WTF I thought. It appears someone tried to slim jim my car! I am really pissed now. ahhh my car is getting more abused by the day. I want my whole car repainted this is asinine I need to contact my insurance company asap.
You need an aftermarket Two Way Alarm System with a microwave perimeter sensor. I've got one and it works great. I installed it as a stand alone system in addition to the factory alarm system (the factory alarm is not bypassed).
If someone get close to the car it gives three warning chirps and sends a chirp and message to my remote to let me know what's going on.
O.K. you have to set both alarms (if you desire) and you may get some extra exercise running out to your car all the time, but you will have peace of mind knowing what's going on when you're away from your baby.
And just think of the fun you'll have if you actually catch someone in the act!!!
PEACE
Or you can get one of those Trunk Monkeys.

I used to have a Viper talking alarm on my Boxter but it was too obnoxious. "System armed" ect.. I prefer the chirp.
Most aftermarket alarms serve the purpose and you don't have to pay a lot of $$$ for a good one.
I have a 900 MHZ Compustar two way system. www.compustar.org
Also www.asianwolf.com has some reasonable two way FM alarms and add ons.
I did install it myself. I'm an Electrical Engineer so I have a slight edge.

Hey, if it's got you paranoid, you could always buy one of these...
http://www.mplusgps.com/
I can't sell to you directly as I just design the product, however I could have one of my distributors contact you. You can wire them up to any sort of input you desire (including your existing car alarm) and have your car call, email, sms you etc as someone is screwing with your car.
However anyone who would try to slim-jim an XF isn't too smart anyway, it would be easier to just do it with a metal coat hanger in through the window... I don't even know if our cars can be slim-jimmed due to the pneumatic locking system.
