Sometimes I like to keep my spoiler up all the time, I'm used to the limited rear view visibility, it looks good, and supposedly spoilers help with wind resistance in speeds below 60 MPH...How do other people handle their spoilers?
I like for my spoiler to come up on its own but i have been having a problem been to the dealer 4 times they now think it is caused by the latch so I'm waiting on the part.
It does go up but will not go down unless i open and shut the trunk...

While I don't mess with mine too often, when a truck has their headlights shining in my back window, sometimes it's just the right height to block the beams...
I usually leave it in automatic operation and rarely manually deploy it. But...
I installed a bypass switch (from the fuse) so I can keep it off or turn it on for automatic deployment. Depends on the mood and gives me the option.
It's also nice to allow it to deploy when it's obvious people are looking. Simply amazing. Then you see people move their hand as the spoiler moves. Cheap thrills are the best!

I let the car do what it was designed to do. Hey convertiblenut did you ever get the problems with your car sorted out ? Was Huntington Jeep/Chrysler able to help?
if i know i'm going to be on and off the parkway or sitting in stop and go traffic, i'll pop the spoiler so it doesn't keep on going up and down, etc. or if i'm in the mood, i'll put it up just for fun --
If I'm down by the beaches where the women hang out I like keeping it up as much as possible. Up and down don't seem to get much attention, the women don't seem to be impressed with that action... so I guess my vote is up as much as possible. hooah
When i take out my dads car, i usually like to keep it up, i think it really makes the car look different, gives the back a bit more... OOMPH. But when he drives it he lets it do its own thing.
Its funny in traffic or at a light, putting the wing up or down, the people behind you are all WTF?!

I wish they had put a quieter motor on it. I just cringe when I hear the motor come on. My vote was to leave it up all the time but mostly so I don't have to hear it. I love my XF but I think the spoiler is kind of goofy. I know I’m a minority in my thinking here as just about everybody else likes their spoiler. I would have been happy if they would have figures some other way to plant the read end at higher speeds. NOT LOOKING FOR A FIGHT HERE!

I like to keep it up as much as possible too.
mine is in the permanent down (fixed) position.
i hate its looks. fuse removed. its been that way since day of purchase... over 2.5 years.
the cars lines look much much cleaner with the spoiler down.
