Default Goodbye Crossfire

Well today was my last day as a crossfire owner. It was fun until the end. But after bringing my car back 8 times for a stalling problem that was never resolved i had no choice but to trade the car in for a measly 16,000 with them thinking it was pretty much in perfect condition. The good news is i bought the new eclipse GT in the sunset orange with the 2 tone interior (only 1 left in the east coast) and the car is FANTASTIC. I never thought another car would look as great as the crossfire but this car is really gorgeous and blows the doors off of the crossfire so it lessens the sadness of giving the crossfire up after only a year and a half. I hope all of you get to drive yours longer than I did and enjoy!

Former Blaze Red limited

just wondering why you didn't try to get the lemon law to cover it? did you look into that? not to rub it in after the fact, but a lot of people don't know how that works or that it is even there to protect the consumers.

My car had 30,000 miles on it when the problem really started happening. I tried EVERYTHING. Called Chrysler multiple times. They were useless. Did not care 1 bit that the car was unsafe and could not be fixed. They could only offer apologies and tell me that all i can do is take it back and try to have it fixed again. I'm putting in complaints to consumer protection against them and the dealership that "tried" to repair it. I had to take such a loss on this car because Chrysler does not know how to fix their own product or care about their customers. Its pathetic. I will never buy a Chrysler or MB again.

Brian, I'm sorry to hear about you giving up on your XF, but it certainly is understandable. I probably wouldn't have held out as long as you did.
I know 16k doesn't sound like a very good trade-in value, but there are Crossfires with super low mileage being sold "used" for only a few thousand more.
I hope you enjoy your new Eclipse, it's a fairly unique car around here, and turns heads where ever they go. I think you picked a great color too.
Good luck, and check in every once in awhile and let us know how you and your new car are doing.

Just found out insurance is gonna go up because the crossfire is a sport performance car and this eclipse is high performance =/ Oh well, the car is an absolute rocket. 0-60 in 5.8 and i can actually get to work if there's more than a speck of snow on the ground since its front wheel drive! When i traded in the crossfire they told me they'd have to replace 3 of the rims because they were bent. Those low profile tires on the crossfire kill the rims.

You are 100% right, and they can't even come out and say production has been halted. We took it in the shorts.

Is there a RIM problem here folks, everyone put your heads up and look around, this could really be a problem.

As long as you don't drive through a pothole! It's expensive!

Congrats on the new car.

My friend has the same exact thing. I was very impressed with the power. From 10-120 he was at my door. So about a 1/3 of a car behind. I was in my stock srt-4 at the time he was in his stock GT.

Very nice car.

I'm getting bummed out here. Seems the new Nissan Z and Mitsubishi Eclipse are taking over the world. They are very nice cars with a good / long track record. Good luck!
That Sunset Orange is over the top BAD A**. Good color choice!
