GREAT Crossfire story that happpened to me today!
Hello everyone, I am a new Crossfire "owner" (leasing the car through my Dad). I have had the car for two weeks, and I absolutely love it! I have had a few head turns, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Anyway, today as I'm out driving in southwest Virginia between Roanoke and Lynchburg, a guy starts following me. Didn't bother me though, since this was on a main road. Well, as we get into a open 2 lane stretch, he pulls up next to me, pointing in my directions. I'm like, Oh crap, something is wrong with my car that he notices (I know he isn't looking to race since he was in an old toyota and he was an older gentlemen. Well, I look over at him, and he holds up one of those signs you see on a Crossfire at a dealership:
Chrysler Crossfire Autobahn Tested at 150 mph!
I'm like, wow a real Crossfire fan! He must have just bought one! Well, I let him pull in front of me after the thumbs up and smile I give him, and he puts his blinker on and motions for me to pull off to the side. I thought he was going to lead me to his house or something to show me his new Crossfire. One thing that was also nice was that he had a Virginia Tech sticker on the back of his car, so I knew he was going to be a friendly guy since I go there.
Well, he gets out and comes walking over to me and starts asking me all about the car! I have no problems telling him all about it! He is asking me about the price, the convertible type, and everything else. He tells me that he is looking to buy one; he had that Crossfire ad because his friend works at a dealership down here and threw it out since he didn't have any Crossfires on his lot. When I tell him how reasonability priced the Crossfire is, he is totally surprised and happy. I tell him to look around and he can probably find a good deal on one.
So, I think I just sold a Crossfire to someone!
This was something I was totally not expecting but was had no problem with at all! I love how there are still people out there that love the look of this car and want to get one!
Thanks,
DetroitHokie

cool story, i dunno if i would have pulled over. i did see a white roadster once and we gave each other the thumbs up but that was about it. lol
Would have been a funnier story if you pulled over and the old guy got out of his car with a gun and said "sorry kid, I just love this car so much, I'm taking it from you, here's the keys for my Toyota, have fun"...
I seriously was not worried about this guy! There aren't those kind of people all over in southwest Virginia. And when he showed me that signed, I knew he was just trying to be friendly. But now, I would never do something like that in Detroit!

Very good story, thanks for sharing, but (being a dad myself) if you ever pull over for someone like that again, we're just going to have to call your dad before you and he get into a conversation like:
Dad: uh, son, remember that crossfire I leased for you recently?
Son: well, yah!
Dad: did you want to tell me something? Like who's driving that car presently?
The reason I'm asking is because I was just watching CNN and I'm pretty sure that wasn't you with the gun pulling away from the Convenience store in my Crossfire roadster, now was it?
Son: you see dad, it was like this, I was driving in Virginia, between Lynchburg and...

Ok, yes now thinking back on it, it was pretty stupid what I did. No need to make me feel bad about it. Mad a mistake, but that's how a young dumb*** like me learns.
