Thumbs down New Sebring (4-door Crossfire)

Check out www.chryslerweblog.com for photos of the new Chrysler Sebring to be unveiled today.

Sure looks like a 4-door Crossfire.

I wonder why Chrysler, who all but abandoned the Crossfire, would use the Crossfire architecture to sell other, ie: less expensive, vehicles.

Do we now own a two-door Sebring?

Has Chrysler "cheapened" the Crossfire in order to sell more Sebrings?

Nice interior but my hairy, spotty backside looks more attractive then the outside.

That's nothing- I hear the '07 Town 'n Country minivan has a pop-up spoiler!

I am not pleased that they're trying to make their plain Jane Honda Accord Toyota Camry competitor look like a Crossfire. But it may bode well for the continuation of the XF. Why would they try and duplicate something they were considering putting out to pasture?

That Is Not Very Nice Looking At All On The Outside. I Like The Inside.

Besides the hood strakes, I really don't see the similarity. Not even close to the looks of a sports car.

Other than the grill and the hood... which resembles the xfire... it has mercedes lights. Looks classy from the front IMO. I don't like the back end though (looks like a corolla like someone mentioned earlier -- kills the classy front).

Interior looks fairly decent as well.

Overall I think this will be a success for chrysler. I don't think this car will affect the way people look at the xfire. If they had stolen the self-deploying spoiler -- I would be mad .

If you look close the wheels are pretty much the same.

Its not too bad for a 4 door thing...If It does well maybe we won't have to keep answering the question "what is that?"
Oh yea, I need to get that new grille and fast...lol

In Andrews 2nd and 3rd pics the wheels even look like the Crossfire. I'm going to wait till I see it in person and who knows, maybe they'll have an SRT-6 version! I didn't like the Caliber at first, but now that I'm seeing them on the road a bit more, I like em' but only the SXT and R/T's, the base model looks too damn cheap.

You've gotta admit though, its about time they did something with the Sebring.

Well this sucks actually because I think it will devalue the Crossfire.
The Crossfire look will be more common. I'm not liking the idea at all.
If they make all the cars look like the Crossfire then it's uniqueness goes away. I'm actually quite pissed that it looks so much like the Crossfire in the front.

Don't you all think this will devalue our Crossfires?

Ah, but only ours will have two doors.

It's not like anybody with an IQ over "10" is going to mistake this for a real XF. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Look at how many Toyota / Nissan / Saturn / Kia / etc, 4 door sedans try to look like Beamers! It hasn't made the Beamer any less of a car.

I heard that they were coming out with a convertible hard top on the Sebring in '07...like the Pontiac G6. Anyone know anything about that?

Oh...and one other thing...those who did the design job on the rear half of this car should be flippin big macs for a living. That is one ugly rear half!

Absolutely. Does a Chevy Malibu take its design cues from a Vette? Was the Acura Integra a 4-door NSX? Was the Caliber modeled on the Viper? When something is unique and different, that should be celebrated rather than looted.
