Question Cold Air Intake on ebay

I have had my Xfire for a while and have been thinking about some upgrades. I have read a lot about different air intakes for our car. I found this one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chysl...QQcmdZViewItem

Is this worth buying? If not, can someone send me a link of one that REALLY works?

Also, I will be getting the Borla system soon. I have read a lot of good things about it.

Thanks!

Hardly a CAI but one of the cleanest/easiest intake mods I have seen. I don't think it is any better than stock, but would love to be proven wrong. If you go for it, let us know what you think.

with the intakes being sooo short... they will only suck in the hot air from the engine compartment reducing performance. this is usually the case.

however ... the sound may make one think they are going faster.

I made my own see here:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ghlight=intake
I took it to the track (1/4 mile) and picked up 1 tenth.
I ran consistent 15.1
It sounds great, I am hoping it will be more beneficial once I get my computer done.
Good luck on what you decide and please post results.

To be honest, unless you are going to the track or just have money to burn, there isn't one out there that is going to make THAT MUCH difference for the time and money involved, or without trashing the stock setup. It's not a car you can mod like a RICER and make huge gains, but you can cruise 140 mph all day long with it stock. You have to look at what you have, what you hope to gain, and what it is going to cost you to get there.

This is a very fair statement. The problem is some of us just can't help ourselves...Building and trying stuff is half the fun.

I have the same intakes as the one on e-bay. They are not true CAI. I guess they are ram air intakes. I didn't buy them thinking I would gain any HP or speed. I bought them because I like the way they looked they do give me a nice sound.
