Default Yeah I got one too

Finally picked up my xf on Friday evening.
Aero Blue, 12 months tax 12 months warranty, 2 new rear tyres. I got a bit of a deal I think.

Only thing wrong with it is a couple of scratches on the front window surround.
Any one know if this can be easily touched up or is it better to buy another surround?

Also driving back home I caught a nice window chip right in the middle of the windscreen. Still these things happen and I can get that repaired easily under insurance.

I will post pictures as soon as It stops raining here. God bless the English weather.

A local body shop can respray the surround, they come off easily so you can leave them at the shop and continue to drive it.
Should be cheaper than new ones.
They need to be taken off to change the windshield anyway.

Hi Leeroy, I hope you are enjoying the new ride.
The window surround is just painted plastic so you should be able to treat it like any other scratch on the bodywork. I don't know how much they cost (probably too much!) but it may be cheaper just to take it off, rub down and repaint. Or one of those 'Chip Away' type outfits may be able to sort it in situ.

GBP 15K.

Stryfox/Woody, Its not too bad so I'll see what a local paintwork shop can do for me but that chrome surround from CDT looks interesting 225.95 euro is approx £160 + delivery...That doesn't sound too bad to me.

Hopefully I don't need a new windscreen just some of that liquid glass to repair should do that job (cross fingers).

Congrats Leeroy! we got ours the same week and same color, but I think they put your steering wheel on the wrong side of the car...you'll have to see about fixing that.

Enjoy, as soon as I get my photo situation squared away i'll post some pics/please do the same!
