Ok, now that I've had a little time to explore the XF, I guess I never thought much about all the pouches on this car...so what do you put in all the kangaroo pouches in your XF? So many choices, too much time on my hands!

Let's see who are the "minimalists" and those who are the "pack rats" out there in our community. Pics of particularly "stuffed" pouches will be of particular interest.

Oh, and happy 4th to everyone!

I use the pouch between the seats on the bulkhead to store the owners manual. The nets on the sides of the console go unused as not to stretch them out of shape.

Ah, yeah, but I just ate a sandwich and my wife says I have to stay in house for a half an hour before I can drive again. lol.

Actually, you're not going to believe this. I'm staying close to home to watch the World Cup match.

 

That's a long pitstop, I think Senna's were normally only 7 seconds!

 

i have never used one pouch. all of my cars, never have anything visible. always looks like an empty car, if it can't fit in the glove box or console, it doesn't go -- except for like groceries or items that i purchased. do keep in mind this car is my grocery getter.

 

Ok, so I'm getting the impression that I'm dealing with a bunch of neat nicks... . I agree, too much junk just mucks up the look, but man DC gave you lots of temping little nooks to put stuff in such a small place eh?

I'll work on those pit stops woody!

DC spent more time... strategizing pouches and nooks than they did with their marketing of the crossfire!!!

but what i found interesting was that "coin nook" behind the ash tray face plate...

I use my pouch in the center for the owner's manual as mentioned earlier. And I DO USE the net pouches behind the seats. Behind the passenger seat I put my coil-up sunshade. I've got the Crossfire font as a graphic and am toying with the idea of silk-screening it on the sunshade. Behind my seat I put two cans of bug spray. Being the avid disc golfer you can't have too much of that stuff.

With that being said ... it's a good thing you waited for your food to go down ... now go hit the road in your new XF.

Remember, the poor ol base only has two pouches - one in each door, so I have pouch envy.

On the other hand, does this mean my car is lighter than yours?

The pouch to the right of the transmission channel has my cell charger. I keep a microfiber towel in the driver's door pouch for easy access. One never knows when a cleanup towel is needed...and it clears film off the windshield like nothing else. The remaining pouches are empty...but seriously considering the owner's manual move. That is a great use for space that I tend to forget about (out of sight...).

 

In the back pouch inbetween the seats we have a thin CD holder and on the hook a hat. Too bad I play the same song very loudly over and over. I can't help it, it drives nice.

In the front nothing but temporary. Only water allowed in the XF, so water bottles at trips.

Glove box has important, side box has lots of napkins.

Trunk has towel and sun screen for car. Always important to carry a towel.

 

Trans tunnel-CDs. Drivers door-pipes and soda plus in use maps. Passenger's door-maps. Bulkhead pouch-digital camera and local reference books. Behind driver's seat-35 MM point and shoot film camera (just in case).

One thing I missed on my previous ride ('92 Mitsubishi Eclipse) was door pockets. Things the Eclipse had the Crossfire doesn't that I miss; dead pedal, a better HVAC system and variable intermittent wipers.

 

My Bluetooth earbud fits in the li'l pop-out drawer. Rubber up, light on the left; any other way and it jams up the woiks.

The best thing about the Owner's Manual in the center pouch is that the console lid doesn't bang when you pop it open.

The console is taken up by my Crossfire humidor, natch.
