Default Did you Lease vs. purchase your Crossfire

Having read Andrews recent thread about his new Bimmer (nice car Andrew) and the fact that his lease on his XF will end and so will, unfortunately, his association with this forum. So I guess I was interested in knowing who leased their car vs. who bought it outright and may be around here for some time.

For the record I bought mine.

Thumbs up Re: Did you Lease vs. purchase your Crossfire

Purchased out right in Aug 2004, and I am in it for the very long haul.

Hmmm ... why can't Andrew stay? Seems to me you didn't even OWN a XF but was a part of the forum ... for what a year or so?

I purchased my XF ... and am here for the duration.

Leased mine in June 2004, one of the first roadsters my area and have one more year left on my lease and I plan on purchasing mine.

Leased mine and plan on buying when lease is up (hopefully there is some negotiation on the buy out option), so in it for the long haul...

Adoni, don't get me and my intention wrong. Having read Andrew's recent posts about the BMW and the end of his lease, combined with my conversation with Patpur last night at a small car meet (he's got a lease, but intends to buy in the end), it just occurred to me to see who intends to hold on to the XF and those who are in for the experience. I made the correlation with buying vs. leasing, and maybe that's not necessarily a good indication of intent of keeping the car.

There's no judgment intended with the question. In my case, as you noted, I was "buying in" (yes, i'm a little slow on that end) and took my time to find a car that I enjoyed and would be a keeper...hopefully.

Ben, sorry I missed that thread from 2004...didn't search sufficiently enough.

Topic needs to revisited quarterly. Anyway, I notice a lot of old timers seem to not post anymore that's both good and bad. LOL

I purchased out right. I knew what I wanted, searched until I found the right one. In it for the long haul. I'm happy with my purchase, no regrets.

Bought both. And I still think the car is a beauty and a bargain.

Bought '04 cash back in March '04 and leased the base coupe which was later lemon'd and replaced with another leased '05 model.

Sennaspirit,

I'm not mad at all, just making a comment. I hope Andrew does stick around, he's been a great help - plus where will I get replacement badges??

Guess what I said is just another way some things online get misunderstood. There's no inflections, no gestures ...

I'm all good - ^5's

I leased and plan on turning in at the end of the lease. The buyout is outrageous and there's no point in keeping a car out of warranty that not even Chrysler can fix. I'll just find another promotional lease on something else for another 3 years.

I bought mine, with the intention of keeping it. I have had many cars in the past that I wish I had held on to. My XF is not a daily driver, it is a car I intend to enjoy and pamper for a long time.

I bought mine. Not a daily driver, just for fun and fancy. It's a keeper and I don't intend to give her up. Ever. I'll just build another garage.
