Default Air Filter making sure

Does the air filter for the regular 3.2 engine have two levels? I have not taken the engine cover off yet and I went to order a WIX filter(s) for the car. The woman was a little confused and asked if the filter had two different levels. I told her I hadn't checked yet, so here I am.
Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but the stock filter is deeper/thicker, by about double, on one half than it is on the other. I replaced mine with K & N's that are uniform depth across the filter.

After reading Hattrick's answer and a large number of other posts on the subject, I decided on the K & N's. Thanks for all the info. Bob
