New Owner
My husband and I are the happy new owners of an Aero Blue Limited Coupe !! We love it. I've been reading your forums for the past several weeks as we contemplated our decision. Thanks for all the helpful info you all post. We went to a dealer in Riverhead N.Y. to pick up our car which I found on the internet. Our local dealer had a couple cars but they were not nice to deal with. Our car had less than 300 miles and had never been titled. We drove it home to South Carolina and it cruised all the way. What fun we had.
This is our empty nest car. I've been driving a mini van for 15 years and am happy to get back to something fun...my first car was a 1969 Pontiac Firebird I bought used but it had plenty of life left in the 350 engine. It too was blue with a white interior and white top. We are looking forward to many happy miles in our Crossfire !!
Congratulations! Enjoy the ride. There's nothing like regaining the thrill of the road once the kids leave the nest. It's even better that today's cars are so much better handling that the cars of our youth...despite our continued love for the oldies. I envy the many mountain roads you have in South Carolina. They've gotta be great driving in a Crossfire.
Congratulations! Great color choice!!
Funny, my first car (actually my parents' car that I pretty much had sole use of, was also a '69 Firebird. Mine was "Pontiac green", white convertible top, 350cc, and DOHC stripes.
Anyway, you've got a lot of great reading ahead of you here. Tons of invaluable information and many unique ideas to tweak your car's appearance to make it your own. My first suggestion is to get your front brake pads changed to the Rotex Gold's. If you haven't already read about them here, you'll soon find out why you'll want them.
Again, good luck and many happy miles to y'all with your new "baby".

Congrats and welcome.
I have also owned a firebird convertible. Mine was a 1968. A white with black rag top. 350CID with good old " 2 spd powerglide" tranny. Leaked like crazy when the rain comes... Now it brings back all the memories.

Enjoy your new wheels. Sorry you didn't stop at exit 52 of the LIE to say hi on your way home from exit 73 in Riverhead. You'll love your new car. Every time I drive it and even wash it I love it more. Hope you will too.
Thanks for all the responses...ours is a "new" 2005. It is so much fun to drive. My husband drove it today and I get it tomorrow! I can't believe we are so competitive about who drove it last e.t.c.!!! I love the spoiler...and the seats are so comfortable.
Congrats on the car! Longest drive I've heard of to get one!
Where in SC do you live? We've had our Xfire for about 6 weeks now - and my wife is starting to come around on the style. At first she hated it - which is why it took 2 years to get one - and now she is starting to compliment it slightly - especially with all the rave comments we get from other folks whenever we are in the car.
Cheers and enjoy your new ride.

We live in Fort Mill SC, just over the border from NC. We're really a suburb of Charlotte. We're not natives, have been here about 8 years. The trip to NY was well worth it, the dealership was professional, courteous and no smoke and mirrors or bait and switch like some local ones. Love my car, make sure your wife gets plenty of drive time, that will change her mind !
Yep, we know where Ft. Mill is - in the land of lower taxes!
We know the area well, lived near Charlotte for 10 years plus my family is from the Lancaster - Kershaw area. For those racing fans, Kershaw is the home of Carolina Motorsport Park - a neat little club race track.
I can't get Mary out of her Miata - plus she is paranoid about doing anything to my new toy. Despite multiple offers, she has yet to drive the thing.
Cheers,
Henry

Congrats and welcome to the club!
I think I have you beat on "longest drive home after purchasing a Crossfire". I bought mine in Boston, MA and drove it all the way back to Albuquerque, NM!!! About 2,200 miles!

I certainly think 2,200 miles is a winner!
If you've got the longest drive, I'll throw my hat in the ring for the shortest one. I drove all of 1.5 miles from my shop to the auction where I bought my coupe. Anyone have a shorter trip?
