Squeaky Suspension
Well apparently I haven't posted anything for a while, so I might as well bring up an issue that I have been having for quite a while.
After I turn off my car and I am getting out, the suspension squeaks like it needs to be lubed. Do you think the dealer will lube the suspension as a "warranty" item, or will I have to pay for it as a "service" issue?
It is a bit embarrassing to get out of a nice sports car and it squeaks like an old Chevy.

If the squeak is from the rear its probably the handbrake cable rather than the suspension. You can confirm it by leaving the car in gear and leaving the handbrake off before getting out. (obvious you should put the handbrake on afterwards though).
Its a good thing we didn't shake on it. It WAS the parking brake linkage that was causing the squeak. I'll have to put that on the laundry list of things for the dealer to fix/adjust/lube.

the noise can be supriseingly missleading.
def. not the seat ive checked everything interior, it is def. something in the left rear wheel if i spray it with water it goes away till it is dry. and for a while i started using my e-brake which i never use and it went away, but now my e-brake feels real loose, i have to pull it all the way up for it to work. has to be this.
Clamping mechanism, handbrake cable etc. Anyone know if possible to lube them yourself? Pls help. The sound came after having changed from winter to summer tyres.
I have been having the same noise, I bet it is my E-brake cable as well. Something so simple, and it never crossed my mind. I guess there is merit in having 1,000's of minds contemplating the same issue
While driving my ‘05 SRT6 yesterday, I got within a mile of my house when all of a sudden I had smoke in my rear wheels and both brakes started to seize. I drove the “last mile” dragging the car and accompanying smoke home and let the rear wheels cool off. This morning I decided to replace rotors and pads, and when I went to remove the rotor, it wouldn’t release from the hub. After I pried it off I saw the emergency brake calipers were extended and did not fully withdraw with the emergency brake disengaged.
I think it may be the linkage, but never haven’t worked on this before is it something I can do or do I need to have my baby towed into my service shop?
