To make a long story short. I was at work and one of my co-workers asked "I didn't know your car (crossfire roadster) went 0-60 in 5.3". I though he was joking because i know the crossfires 0-60 time is like 6.7 and the srt6's is 4.9 ... then he comes over with this magazine (Robb Report sports & Luxury Automobile 2007 buyer's guide "126 top New Luxury Cars" pg. 56).

And it says...

Transmission: 6-speed manual
Power: 215 hp at 5,700
Torque: 229 lb at 3,000
Curb weight: 3,140 lbs
0-60 mph: 5.3 seconds
Top speed: 140

This article solely references the SRT-6 and not the Limited. Most of the articles I have read peg the SRT-6 at 4.9 - 5.1 sec while the Limited runs 6.5 - 6.7. The price of $40,500 is also incorrect. That may be the price of a Limited Roadster, but certainly not a Limited Coupe or SRT-6 Coupe/Roadster.
With all of the incorrect information I really wouldn't put too much faith in.
When I went to buy mine, my wife made me test drive the SRT-6 prior to the Limited and I was sold on the extra power. The stiffer ride was a small trade-off. The fixed spoiler and 15-spoke wheels have also grown on me and I now prefer both to the Limited's deployable spoiler and 7-spoke wheels.

actually it appears to be referencing the limited, notice the transmission, hp and tq? i'm assuming its a type-o and they meant 6.3, which is very attainable. high 5's and low 6's are easy with a stick and a good driver. 5.3 in a base, with 4.10 gearing, yeah.

Actually, the headline of the story clearly says "Chrysler Crossfire/SRT6," while the article next to it entitled "Chrysler 300C SRT8" (notice their is no "/," and that article only speaks of the SRT8 in the entire article and specs). Now, I am assuming you all know a "/" means "and." In the entire article, it makes only one reference to the SRT-6, the rest of the article clearly references the Limited/Special Editions; including: transmission, horsepower, torque, curb weight, top speed and MSRP (2007 Special Edition roadster). Their is one picture of an SRT-6 and also one picture of a Special Edition Roadster.

You are correct about the inconsistencies in the text and the "/" in the headline. Sometimes the writers and editors of these publications leave something to be desired: accuracy. Just imagine how this mixed-up magazine would handle a simple model like, let's say, a Porsche 911 with its many variants. Scary, isn't it? And they get paid to publish this kind of stuff? Maybe we should add another color to the story -- Purple for Puzzled or Lime for Lost ...

 

High 5's? Doubtful. Not with that blasted traction control we have.
