Default Lambo Door Hinges

Hey Yall,

Any of you put Lamborghini style door hinges on you Xfire? I'm thinking about doing this and I am trying to find the best deal out there. Help me out, will ya? Post a couple pix of the coupe with the doors also if ya can.

There are a number of gallery pics if you do a search on lambo.

Ichon shows them on several photos in his gallery...

search for GT Factory diablo doors; they're by far the best looking and seem to be the most durable -- i still love them on cars like the XF or SLK or 350z, but cant bring myself to spend $4-5K on some thing that i would honestly be somewhat embarrassed to climb out of everyday --

I plan on getting them eventually. Being somewhat "rotund" getting in and out can be very difficult in a parking lot. The doors on the Xfire are very wide and they need to be opened up to do the "duck and dive" getting in. Two weeks ago a large truck parked next to the drivers side. They were still within their parking place, but right on the line. It just barely opened to the first detent. I did wriggle in but it was painful.

With the Lambo style doors they will open up out of the way and should make ingress/egress much easier. There is a company out in SoCal that doesn't specifically make them for the Xfire but they do for the previous gen SLK, so I think they should work. They claim to be the only one with DOT approval. They also claim you can still open the doors as normal and the process is reversible if you decide to sell and the new buyer does not want them.

i am also looking to buy. i seen some bolt on for XF going for $2,100. but universals can go as low as $800. i've seen there also is a few different angles. like 130 degree or 90 degree. 90 degree is straight up, and looks like it have super clearance, compared to the 130 degress, where the door is still halfway in the way. also did you install them yourself or had it professional? i know you have to cut and splice in extra wire length for all the wires. I think i'm gonna order my set within 1 month and install them myself. think it will turn a few heads in the parking lots at college.

Just did a quick search on ebay. This seller has a kit for $159.99. From the comments and feedback it looks like he ships slow and I would guess professional installation.

those are universal, and take a lot of mods to get to work on XF. and not guaranteed to fit and not leak.
