Question The 2 Crossfires at the NAIAS, hmmm

My wife and I went there this past Wednesday and they had a SSB conv and an Inferno Red coupe and check this out, the window stickers both said 2006 Crossfire, WTF. So what is it going to be, left over 06's or are they going to be called 07's.

BTW, my door tag says my car was built 4/04' and its an 05', can someone explain that one to me.

I saw them on Tuesday myself. I did notice them being '06 models on the window sticker but didn't check the build date. The way they have been selling in the US I can't see why DC would try selling them here again in '07. Who knows... it was funny to hear a guy looking at the sticker price say he thought it was a good price @ 38K. I told him I had an '05 with 1K miles on it that I would sell for $30K. Needless to say he was just looking.

There is really nothing to explain, it's not unusual at all. Cars are commonly built, introduced and sold in the year prior to a
vehicle's year designation. My '04 was built in Jun '03. The 2007 cars should have been built and on sale way before now.
It used to be new models were introduced in Sep for the upcoming year. Car makers are introducing new models earlier
and earlier. Here we are in Jan 2007, it won't be long before 2008's will be on the market...

Mine says the same thing Aero Blue, built in May of '04 but its an '05 I took delivery of in July of '05. I asked here before if Chrysler could change vins on cars not yet titled and someone here jumped all over me. Perhaps they are not changing vins but the are apparently selling cars made the year prior as the next years new vehicle. The 5th month of the year seems awful early to me to be selling the next years model. May ain't September Ben. If it was a September or October build I could understand, in my mind May is really pushing it. I don't get it either.

I might have to check into this because if someone asks me when I go trying to sell it in March I wanna have the right answer for them, or at least the answer the dealership said.

My build date is 04/04' and I got the car 06/04' but its an 05'. The roadster was available in the 05' model year and I was one of the first to get one in my area so I believe that the build year and the model year is probably correct. I think you can also tell by the build # what model year it is. Hope this helps.
