crossfire on the way...
I just registered for this forum... I'm taking deliver of a new '06 crossfire coupe within the next month... I was wondering what kind of break-in period is recommended?
1k to 3k miles is what people usually recommend. Is it a base, limited or SRT6? How much did you pay for it? What color is it?
Congrats and enjoy your new ride. This is a great forum.

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS
The engine of your new crossfire does not require a long break-in period. Following these few simple guidelines is all that is necessary for a good break-in.
-- Drive your vehicle at moderate vehicle and engine speeds during the first 1,000 miles.
-- Do not make any full throttle starts and avoid full throttle acceleration.
-- Use the proper transmission gear for your speed range.
-- Avoid excessive idling.
-- Check the engine oil level at every fuel fill.
NOTE: A new engine may consume oil during the first few thousand miles of operation. This should be considered as a normal part of the break-in and not an indication of a problem.

You stated you bought an '06 for $17,800 that sounds like a great deal.
I'm interested in one as well but wondering how much luck I'll have at trying to get a nice low price myself. Any recommendations??

i got a really good price on my since i work for a dealership... i guess if you go to the nearest chrysler dealership and ask if you can get a good closeout price on an '06 crossfire you should be able to get a decent deal...
no pics yet...
one of my coworkers had told me to use a 500 mile break in of moderate driving and i figured it would be worth getting some second opinions.
