Talking Battery maintainer ??? Hook up ???

Hi,
I get the idea and the reason to use but...
1. Do I leave the battery in the car with all the battery cables hooked up & attach the maintainer with the alligator clips ???
2. Or should I disconnect the positive and negative cable then attach the battery maintainer ???

Leave the battery hooked up, Just use the clips and plug it in. That's what I do with my Crossfire and my motorcycle. Never had any trouble with that setup.

Don't forget to do the maintenance on the battery's electrolyte. I just checked my caps an a couple where really low.

Why use it at all go start the car once a month or every other week that is actually much better for the battery than a maintainer system. You will get oil to the top end and re-lubricate parts that are otherwise sitting there with no oil and developing a rust coating trust me don't let your car sit for 3 or 4 months without running the engine unless you fog it like a boat motor.

My brother-in-law works for Chrysler proving grounds as a mechanic and he is the one that advised me NOT to start the car every month. !st he told me the car would have to run at least 1/2 hour to warm it enough to keep moisture from condensation after you shut it off. 2nd he told me your cylinders are as dry in a month as they are in 6 months. He also advised me to jack the car off the ground, better for suspension and avoids flat spots on tires.
