Default 2007...Yes 2007 Crossfire

We just ordered our next crossfire. It has been a year since we got the '05, and the new employee lease came out Tuesday. It says they are all 2007's. This time we went with machine gray/ two tone dark slate and gray interior. And a black top...it is a convertible this time.

Ah Ha !

That explains the 2007 service and owner's manuals listed!

(See my "2007" thread further down the list).

No wonder they are blowing out the 2006 models with deep discounts.

It will be interesting to see what kind of pricing is offered on the 2007's once they arrive on the Dealer's lots.

Cheers,

Slim

Other than the SRT-6 wheels and some changes to the airbags, aren't 2007's identical to 2006's?

Yes, I think you are correct.

Very little change to the actual content of the car.

No mechanical differerences that I am aware of.

It would be nice if the N/A engine got more power/displacement but no dice...

The only chances that I have seen is the airbag difference and the standard rims replaced with the SRT rims.

Also I am getting a 2007 roadster as well. Decided to go with black, with cedar interior. Most importantly I got the 6 speed manual this time around.

From what I have been reading and seeing on the Chrysler website. . .There also appears to be a couple of new colors. . . a "gold" and a "Silver" with monochromatic color scheme. Anybody else catch this?

I did notice that. I also noticed that Chrysler refreshed the Crossfire section of their website but still list the '06 as the latest available model.

oh, i guess the radio has black ***** instead of silver. i guess to eliminate the "staining or discoloration" that some users have experienced.

There were 3 new roadsters on the lot in Rockville, MD. Two had the "standard" wheels and one had SRT-6 wheels. According to the VIN numbers, they were all '06's. I think that they are just cleaning out the stock at the factory.

Ya, I don't have the invoice right in front of me but one thing I did notice is that they changed up the "customer preferred package", and it does include the new airbags.

Fenwick 223 - you checked the vins and those are 2006's, a 6 in the 10th position. i saw those two cars too last Friday night. I thought the Blue one was an '07, I didn't get out and look. I was in there about a month ago getting an oil service and the salesman tried to sell me one. I told him mine only has 4,500 miles on it, why do I need a new one? then he tried to sell me a PT Cruiser. Guess things are tough.
One other thought. Most of the Crossfires I've seen have build dates that are the prior year of the actual car. Mine was built in July of '04 yet its an '05. If this is the case perhaps the actual '07's wont see the light of day til late in the year or '08.? Just a thought, not saying its a fact. By the way Fenwick where are you located?

Pat

I was there picking up tags for my 04 Limited Graphite Coupe that I've had for about 5 weeks. I actually checked the VINs on all three XF's; all 6's. I'm located in Bethesda. I noticed your post re: the Olney meets on Saturday evenings and will try to make it out.

Pat, after reading your post, i went back sunday morning and all three are 06's...new. There's also an '04 red coupe there as well #19XXX, stick.
HOWEVER, someone at that dealership needs to clean those tailpipes...hopefully Andrew never sees them, someone will have to resuscitate him.

Needed to go back to the Rockville dealer today to have my TPM system reset. While there, I looked again at the 3 roadsters. I need to correct my previous post. The one that appeared to have the SRT wheels were not, in fact, the SRT wheels. It is a Base Model Roadster, Red, and includes a Special Edition Group; for $310 you get Satin Silver Finish Door handles and Aluminum Wheels. These wheels, while they are the same style, spoke-wise as the SRT, are not the same. They have kind of a dark gray, gloss painted surface.

I saw a 4th Base Model Roadster '06, black with cloth interior, and the side grills were also black and not chrome/silver. The list on this was $35,670 but I'm sure that the usual $10K off (and maybe more) applies.

hi baksdak, any news on when your '07 will be delivered? It appears that the 07's arrived at the Baltimore port earlier this week. Wondering how long it'd take before it clears customs and delivered.

indrabk - Yes, I heard a load had arrived at the port. They are not sure if ours is in that lot or not...I am hoping it will be! Unfortunately, they also say it could be another FOUR weeks until it reaches us!

Within the last 3 weeks I've seen two transporters between Washington and Baltimore each loaded with brand new Crossfires. All had the white protective plastic. 8 to 10 cars on each transporter.

New 07's??? Leftover 06's or 05's finally getting from storage to dealers?
