Please Be honest
Hello Crossfire owners.
I am going to be buying a 2004 xfire black on black 6 speed Limited. I have a 2002 Mini Cooper S Electric Blue with the white top/mirrors that Im going to be selling. Some one told me that the crossfires have horrible leg and head room. Your knees press against the dash and something and you can't slide the seat back any farther to prevent it.
Another person told me that the guy who told me that is full of **** and that they have ALOT of room.
As Crossfire owners I know you don't want to dis your baby in anyway but honestly, what is the deal.
Thanks,
Justin

Re: Please Be honest
Justin,
Yes, space can be a bit tight in the Crossfire and some people can't manage to fit. I know some folks here are pretty tall and have managed to adjust the seats and get comfortable. The only way to tell is to get in one and see for yourself.
Compared to the Mini, its a lot tighter though. I have a friend of mine who is 7' tall. He can't even get one butt cheek in the Crossfire, but fits just fine in his Cooper S. Go figure...

Its bullshi*t, there is so much room in the crossfire, I take it you are from UK, having a cooper and all... Much more cabin room in a crossfire! very very spacious. Seat is low to the floor but that is like most coupes.
I have had my crossfire since last thursday and I absolutely love it! only problem I have with it is petrol consumption. Since Thursday night to now (wednesday night) I have done £90 worth of petrol! I haven't been anywhere substantial either! I'm considering buying another run around and keeping this as a second car for the weekend.

matters your size... i am 5' 10" and i have plenty of space ... my brother is 6' 1" and fits in it just barely ... he still drives it and enjoys it but he just fits it like a glove. if you have a belly, forget about it. trunk space is surprising cause it fits plenty ...
go try it before you make your mind up...

I had a hard time at first because I didn't know the capabilities of the seat adjustments. Its night and day if you lower the seat all the way. You get less lean backwards but you will have plenty of leg room.
On that note, my passenger side seat doesn't go up and down, just leans forward and back. Is this standard or should I take it in and have them fix it under warranty?

Agreed ^^^
Was a little tuff at first, but after i adjusted the seat i don't have any problems. There are 8 adjustments, and it can take some time to get all set up the way you like. Also try extending the steering wheel all the way out so it don't hit your knees. Also Arcrist. no the passenger is only 4 way adjust meant, only front back and back angle, no lower seat up or down or lower seat angle.

You will fit just fine. I am 6'3" and fit can be a little tight but nothing I cant stand.
For the record I have spent alot of time in both the crossfire and MC. The MC has much more seat travel and just seems bigger because it doesn't have the low roof line. You sit totally different in a crossfire (low to the ground and almost like you are in a cocoon). Don't ask me how I know what I cocoon feels like.

I'm 6'2" and I fit. I wasn't sure I would, and I told the sales guy right up front that the test drive may be over before it starts. It takes a bit of experimenting with the seat and telescoping steering wheel, but I'm more comfortable than I was in my trade in (Scion tC). Granted, there's no room to spare, it's snug, but then again, if room to spare is what you want, you'd be looking at Impalas right? I'd say find one, and sit your butt down and decide for yourself.

My butt ugly **** fits just fine, I just made sure to tint my Crossfire 25% on all six windows so I can get the young girls to stare in wonder.
My girl friend still gets jealous. (You can see a picture of my sweet babe in the user gallery).
I’m sure a muffin like you won’t require window tint.
