Default future of xfire w/o merc??

i have had my '04 black auto for 40,000 and just love it.

what is the future of the crossfire? was '06 the last year? will mercedes service it? i've not checked this forum for a long time so if there are fairly recent threads answering my questions i'll not be offended by linkage.

thx,
dan

Chrysler will have to continue to service and supply parts... The car is officially no longer being produced... New sales are from pre-existing inventory...

that's what i figured. thanks for the response.

have there been any threads/thoughts on the future value?

i expect the car to age well. better certainly that the fast japanese cars.

it has potential to become a "discovered" classic.

Yes there have, but speculation on future value is only speculation... I guess it does have the potential to become a discovered classic... But that is yet to be seen... I'll be dead in 30 years...

Heard more and more rumors that the XFire isn't quite dead yet!

I've even read about the resurgence of the Xfire in my local news, so I'd say the odds of the XFire surviving without Daimler are pretty good!

Come-on, do you actually believe a press report that says this ?

"For 2008, the Crossfire will get a few year-over-year changes, including a tire pressure monitoring system."

Now there's an expert for ya.

I have to agree. I am seeing more and more in my area, it's a thrill to see them, but I don't want them to become commonplace.

You're right... It was dribble and I did not understand what you were saying till I re-read my post, and to my chagrin; I found that I had omitted the sarcastic smiley from the link when I added the last line.

In all seriousness... Cerebus will produce the XFire as long as there is profits to be made, and after the Chrysler purchase is finalized, will start pulling in the reigns on non-profitable divisions and projects. Daimler still has a 19% in Chrysler, and will most probably use their influence to have Karmann do one year builds of the base and limited models, but I doubt you will see any further SRT6 development.
