New '06 limited coupe! Tranny is strange though?
Hi Khanable,
I also have a '06 manual coupe crossfire, which I bought about six weeks ago. I couldn't agree more with your comments. The car is awesome, but I'm also having "issues" with the manual transmission.
I find it very hard to get a smooth change from 1st to 2nd. I also sometimes get the lurch and "knock" sound when shifting. It seems to happen just as you depress the clutch. The knock seems to be getting better, not sure if it is because the car now have 1,200 miles or I'm learning to compensate by timing my shifts differently?
I also have a vibration on the gear ****. It is only noticeable with my hand on the selector.
Anybody know the actual TSB number, I've tried searching but can't find the number.
Thanks,
mbd

Greetings everyone! As promised I can post an update on the situation with the car.
I brought it to the dealer and he ended up adjusting some of the linkage in the shifter and added half a pint of transmission fluid.
Overall, it's smoother, but not as smooth as I had hoped it would be. The tech there was an older gentleman, and a cool guy. He had mentioned how another guy around his age had brought the car in a few weeks ago complaining about the same thing, and it turned out that after a while it broke in and was a lot smoother.
He then proceeded to look me square in the eye and mumble something along the lines of "these cars are not really meant to be drivin by a grandma, so... stop being a ***** and get on it and break it in."
I laughed and went on my marry 'ol way.
Oh, and I should note one of the techs commented on how well the magnaflow sounded on it. Woo.

Hate to reive such an old thread but I wanted to mention that this problem is still going on. I've had it at the dealership twice -- first time they told me to stop driving like a girl (haha), added some trans fluid and adjusted the linkage. Second time they replaced the entire shift mechanism, and now, the third time is scheduled for this Monday.
I cannot shift to or from 2nd without extreme difficulty and it's driving me NUTS.
edit: I've printed the TSB regarding insufficient lubricant on the tranny shaft splines and will be bringing it with me.
I really REALLY hope this time I can get it fixed. I'm going to have to get a print out of each time I was at the dealership too.. since this will be trip number 3 regarding the same thing. Number 4 is going to be the last straw for me and I will have to persue the lemon law
A car this good should not shift this terribly..

Tehre's a TSB on the hard shift into first or reverse. It shouldn't be difficult to get into gear, ever. Notchy is one thing... difficult is another. Welcome to the family!
Hah this is my second welcome.. gash.. you guys are so friendly!
Yea I have printed out that TSB and I plan to bring it with me on Monday.
Agreed, notchy is one thing.. it's notchy in every gear for me, but first to second is just very difficult .. sometimes not even wanting to go AT ALL. Get's a bit scary merging onto highways.. let me tell ya!
