Default Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow

I have spent the last few months trying to get Chrysler to budge on the residual on my lease. But, with the residual and the loss of the under mileage pay back, it would cost me over $20,000 to purchase my ‘04 Crossfire with 40,000+ miles on it. Though I love the vehicle, it simply does not make any financial sense.

So, I got her up to 115 MPH and hit some really nice curves on the way home. Cleaned her up one last time and regretfully turned her into the local dealer. He said it was the cleanest lease turn in he had ever seen. Good thing he did not check the rear tires too close. I hope she finds another good home that will take care of her.

I want to thank everyone on this forum. Though I did not post too often, I read it every day and enjoyed most of the comments. Good luck and God bless.

Sterling

P.S. I purchased a 2003 Cadillac STS, 20,000 miles, loaded, extra clean, same price. It is a very nice vehicle, but I already miss my baby.

Shoulda spent another $2,000 and gotten a 15,000 mile SRT-6...

The Caddy is nice though, I want both.

Another + to that. I love my '05 Roadster, but I'll be looking for one of the '06 leftovers.
Lots of deals being made and the prices are to low to justify paying the residual and keeping her.

Well...I hope you enjoy the Caddy.

Look at the bright side...now someone else gets to experience the joy of owning such a fine automobile just like you did!

NeverEnough:

I did test drive a 'new' never-titled 2005 Crossfire SRT-6. There were a few of them at the Lima, Ohio Chrysler dealership for $25,000 (great deal). Fantastic car, but too much performance for me, because I would use it and get into trouble. I got into enough trouble with my Crossfire.

Irafatsar:

I had a 36 month lease payment of $350, with $2,658 down payment. The residual was $18,228. I also received back $0.12 per mile under 54,000 miles.

Very interesting, I am looking for a SRT from that dealer and nothing was said about new, untitled SRT-6's for 25k. Are you sure of those numbers or are they just close?

Sorry to see you go cause I really like my 2004 coupe and can't imagine getting rid of it. Still feels like new at 31k miles.

Just checked the Tom Ahl Chrysler website and they still have one 2005 SRT6 with 10 miles on it for $25,999 (they said they would sell it to me for $25,000). When I was there a month or so ago they had three or four.
