New Owner
I bought a 2005 Limited red ? coupe yesterday, 6 spd, 21,000 miles and in overall very nice condition. After I sold my Porsche 911, I didn't find anything that looked as good as the xfire. The lines on this car are beautiful. The 6 spd really shifts like gravy and is wonderful. The car has good power and I probably will do some changes when money allows. Wheels have some road rash on them, hard to see, but they might be changed. Also, a better exhaust sound would be nice. This site looks great, like my old Porsche one was, and if it's as helpful as theirs, this will be great. I like to do work on my cars myself, so if I have a new question, I'll do a search, but for those other times, lets talk. I'll try to post a pic, (as if they are different) soon.
When you check your brakes and if they are worn, we suggest you buy Rotex Gold brake pads. They virtually eliminate brake dust as it is a PITA to keep the rims clean especially the front.
Oh yea, CONGRATS!

Ok. Thanks to all. Question. When I start the car, the mileage shows a strange figure on the left side, and -11,300. it stays on for about 10 seconds and then reads the actual mileage. What does this mean? I cant find any info in the book.

I'm sure that the previous owner was doing the oil changes and just didn't know how to reset the FSS system!
From the Crossfire Service Manual:
The counter can also be reset by any individual after the indicated
service has been performed. To do so:
1. Turn the key to the ON/RUN position.
2. Within one second press the ****/button to the left of the display twice.
3. The present status for days remaining or distance traveled is displayed. Within ten seconds turn the key to OFF.
4. Press and hold the ****/button to the left of the display, while turning the key to ON/RUN again. The present
status for days remaining or distance traveled is displayed once more. Continue to hold the ****/button to the
left of the display.
After approximately ten seconds, a tone sounds and the display shows 6,000 miles (10,000 km) for approximately
ten seconds.
5. Release the ****/button to the left of the display.
If the FSS counter was inadvertently reset, the counter must be reset.
The message is displayed for approximately ten seconds when turning the key to the ON/RUN position, or while
driving when reaching the service warning threshold. It can be cancelled manually by pressing the ****/button to
the left of the display.
Once the suggested term has passed, the message, plus either the symbol for Service A or the symbol for Service
B preceded by a "–" (minus symbol) blinks for approximately thirty seconds and a tone sounds every time when
turning the key to the ON/RUN position.
The FSS display can also be called up for approximately ten seconds with the display illuminated by pressing the
****/button to the left of the display twice within one second.

Holy c*** batman, just 11,300 out of date. I hope that's not accurate, but I'll check into that. Is there a "wrench" symbol that should be showing that denotes "service"? I can't find any history on the car, but I'll be changing it soon.
hey that means that you need to set your service clock and the chrysler dealer has that info if not let me know and i will try to send it to you how to reset it. make sure you change the oil first and then reset.

I am a new owner of a 2005 black xfire conv. I'm still learning a lot about the car. For instance, brake dust, what kind of wax to use, scathes in the leather seat. How do you clean under the spoiler? A lot of my questions have been answered. Thanks so much. One more question: I'm looking for a unique license plate name, Can anyone out there give me any idea's? Most appreciated.
