Red face a very depressing day ...

my lease is up ... and tomorrow i am returning it after 4 great years ... this has been my favorite car thus far...

i have spent the day bonding with my crossfire for the last time... washing, claying, waxing, cleaning the interior, leather conditioning, vacuuming, cleaning the glass and dressing the tires...

i hope this is beneficial and the care is apparent to the next owner...

Andrew the solution is simple "buy the car" and keep it in the garage since its going to be a classic and bring one of the other vehicles outside and put a car cover on it. See problem solved!

Andrew sorry to hear your turning it in. You are planning on staying on the site I hope, you have a wealth of information on the Crossfire and detailing that will be sorely missed if you go. Good luck with your endeavors.

Nah the car is still a mess Andrew, I can see dirt you don't see. You need to keep it and T R Y and get it clean.

Someone is going to get a real cream-puff. I don't feel all that bad for you, though. You have a lovely BMW.

Unhappy Re: a very depressing day ...

Andrew hope tomorrow goes well for you. I know the next owner will understand the care that was taken, as it still looks brand new with 40k on it!

Good luck with the BMW as it looks like you picked a nice one.

And did you paint in the rear wheel well black? I thought all 04's were body colored? It looks good.

Good luck and take care.

As much as it pains you to lose such a beautiful car...just look on the bright side...we may be getting a new member to the forum soon!

Especially if you leave them a surprise little note somewhere!

Sorry you're losing your car tomorrow, I have to tell you that the pics of your car is the reason I got my Alabaster XF. I was originally looking for a Pearl Blue but the look of your car changed my opinion about white cars. Anyway, the next owner is going to get a real gem, I don't think you can find anything as clean as yours with 40K. I know you'll enjoy the Bimmer just as much if not more.
PS - I guess I should buy a set of emblems from you. I'll sent you a PM.

I don't know what to say, i feel a bit like crying. I can only pray that the new owner will try to take care of the "baby" and not let it get too dirty. Any time your in central Texas and need a Crossfire fix feel free to come detail and/or drive mine. Please do continue to drop by the forum, we all value your help and advice.

~ good eye ...

i did indeed undercoat the wheel wells with 3M undercoating (with attention to great care). i pulled all off the rims, put it up on jack stands, covered the car and masked things off accordingly.

my reason for doing so ... i had some friendly rub in the front wheel well (when in reverse at full lock) and wanted to conceal it when going back to the original ride height... after doing the front wells ... i decided i wanted the rears to match...

the plus... it doesn't seem like the car sits as high ... by eliminating the attention to the white wheel well/gap... by coating it black.

Andrew, what can I say that hasn't been said. I also hate to see you get rid of a car that has set the standard for cleanliness for all of us, no matter how **** we thought we were. You have been a tremendous help to me since I joined a bit over a year ago. I'm glad you will stay on the forum.

Thanks for all your help and support on this great forum. Good luck with the BMW, and that beautiful new Volvo.

BTW, I think I see some lint on the dash of the car.

Andrew,
I have only been a Crossfire owner for 6 months and a forum member 3 months but have enjoyed all the input you have provided to the forum and for providing me with the emblems I now have on my car.
I felt your pain when your car was damaged and was pleased to see the body shop do such a fine job making it right again. You are admired by many here including me and I wish you the best with all you cars and am happy that you will remain a part of this forum / family.

Yours truly,
Gary
