Importing used crossfires into Canada
An interesting article in Autoblog regarding the importation of vehicles by folks in Canada. http://www.autoblog.com/
They reference a site with additional info: http://www.importcarcanada.com/main/
There have been posts on this forum by our northern neighbors who wished they could do this. Perhaps this will help.

I considered buying a US car when I got my Xfire last year, but Chrysler Canada does not honor the warranty on US vehicles so saving a few thousand dollars or so was a gamble at best. If it breaks, it will be expensive as Hell to fix. But the American cars that were being imported by brokers did help to seriously depress the local resale value of the used cars... My limited coupe lists at $46,000+ up here and I bought it for $26,000 with only 10,000 miles on it. I know it's still more than they go for in the US, but comparatively speaking, it was a great deal... A Nissan 350Z (read three-fifty-zed!) would have been $10,000 more and it wouldn't look half as nice in my driveway.
I have family up in Canada, and they tell me that he local dealers are constantly ripping everyone on new car prices. For instance the local Chrysler dealer up in Vancouver wants $20,000 for a new PT Cruiser non turbo, as compared to here in the states the same car is selling for $10,000 new. And since the US dollar is on par with the Canuk buck in terms off value, it makes sense to import cars from down south, ay?
It's funny how the Chrysler USA didn't void the warranties of car's imported from Canada when the dollar was trading at 0.65. I'm sure if someone sued Chrysler Canada over the voiding of warranties they would have a strong case since the voiding of warranties was used only to discourage the importing of vehicles and did violate the terms and conditions of the original warranty.
A class action lawsuit has been launched against a number of Canadian manufacturers over the warranty issue. Toyota Canada and Chrysler Canada are two of the named.
