Default need your ideas and opinions

hey guys, as most of you know i enjoy chopping my car up lol, but im getting ready to go into stage 3 of my build and i wanted to know what you guys think would look good. so far since the last pics i replaced the shifter **** boot and peddles with momo items but im rethinking that i redid my tailights... had the professionaly smoked, my diffusers are painted and waiting on me to get off my a$$ and install them. so here are my thoughts... redo my visors.. again and add 2 5" raw screens then black leathers again to match the redone headliner and pillars, redo one pillar again with 3 gauge pods that i have laying around, getting rid of the red (just for you johnny lol) and recovering seats and door panels in leather ( color?) adding a 7 inch flip out where the center vents are, redoing the interior lights (color?), redoing the center consoles silver (color?), adding 3 more subs and replacing all 8 components for 16 components better components, redoing my trunk (any ideas?), changing the grille for the donoutwest one, repainting the car black with a silver metalic, allum. floor mats, cold air intake... anybody ever use the cry o2 systems? or possible nos, pull the motor and paint the block (color?) polish the intake manifold and valve covers, replace the hoses with ss braided lines, make allum. caps for all resevoirs, underdrive pulley and make an overdrive for the alt. yet another optima yellow top and 1 to 3 more caps, would like to find some colored spark plug wires if any available (insight?) possibly changing to v8 slim fan so as to show more of the motor, possibly suiciding the doors and shaving the door handles... any other thoughts or opinions would be great and highly appreciated, this will probably be my final set of mods until some serious power mods come availible ie latanas prodject or an srt6 swap, but i want to have a show worthy car, thanks to all who help or make POSITIVE sugestions lol

definately get the new grill in black powder coat finish it will go very well with the car ... don't do black leather ... the red seats look good but maybe black suade centers keeping red bolsters ... same for headliner and pillars ... do black suade or alacantra ... that's what's in and rightfully so since it looks dam good.

big no on the suicide doors as it just does not go ... i would leave the doors alone just cause everyone has scissors or lambos. its more unique, functional, and intelligent in the stock configuration.

do things that look and function better than stock ... do not mod just to make it different as it is not always better.

i really like the wheels you chose ... that was a good choice. save the money from the stereo upgrade since its not needed ... the door hack since its really not needed ... and put it towards your kleeman fund. call them up, nice people, they will tell you exactly the power your engine can hold. you will not be disappointed ... after talking to their engineers i am happy with mercedes engineering philosophy. srt swap will cost you just as much as the kleeman kit if not more. there is no such thing as simple with this car ...

No suicide doors, no Lambo doors either. Keep it clean and uncluttered. No need for tons of video screens. It is a sports car, go with a sports car theme. Electronics add weight, weight is unwanted in a sports car, therefore would create confusion among true auto enthusiasts. You should concentrate on upgrading the performance and sportiness of the car. You could add a carbon fiber interior to save weight (looks good too) and trim the center of the seats with Alcantara because that would imply that you did so to increase seat grip from high cornering speeds. As for the guages on the pilars, I say no, too ricey and cluttered. A better option would be to include some small guages in the console somewhere.

Your wheels are huge! Maybe a smaller wheel, more tire, and lower suspension would add to a sporting theme if you decide to go that route. If not, consider some spacers for the rear wheels. Yours has the same problem that many do when adding aftermarket wheels, they need to come out a little more.

I agree... I was looking to buy LSD but at Geneve AutoExpo, I was speaking with one of the best maker of LSD for Crossfire and he told me to don't buy or use they because the frame will loose a little of torsion streight... or something fo similar... (sorry but my English is not the best)... I don't know if is true or false, but is a informatione given by the seller... Usually they try to kick you everything!!! So i trusted him..

already spaced the wheels lol, what do you think of peanut butter leather in the dors and the bolsters with black suede center inserts maybe embrodered crossfire in the doors? as for the alacantra on the headliner its just isn't stretchable enough for all the complex contours, the red i think is too bright now and i want more of the luxury feel, the screens would be for the nav system which any good luxury car should have what about the gauges in the dors??? do you like that idea more? then i could fiber glasss the upper door panels and paint them to match or recover them??? or in the roof maybe? any other spots? i don't want to fiber glass the whole interior being as its not in my budget and i dont think it would look good. the kleenman is 15k so yeah if i cant get a v8 i might go that way but thats down the road... aways maybe a year or 2. the stereo stuff looks like it will be close to cheap being as i'm looking at a possible sponsorship. i like my huge wheels they aren't going anywhere lol i paid too much for them to just sell em off again. i'm thinking of changing out the rear sway bar after running the dragon, ive heard the srt 4 sway bar is interchangable and thought one of the upgraded heavy ones might be a good addition (insight?) trust me though i dont want a pimp my ride car at all, i want a refined looking luxury coupe, and i dont want a track car either so no gutting the interior, any thoughts on the cry o2 though??? or do you think nos would be better?? oh and colors? i'd love to build this car into something this community would mostly enjoy but something that i wholey do. thanks for the responses so far!!!

stay away from glassing the interior and painted parts ... thats' very hard to pull off and usually just looks like poop. peanutbutter inserts only if you get rid of all the red and go with black suade and leather. i think thnking of this economically doing black inserts on the seats and changing up the door panels to match leaving the red bolsters would be the quickest and least expensive change while giving the look you seek. the biggest change to the look for the car will be the grill in black cause as nicely made as the current one is it just does not belong on these cars (wrong look entirely).

if you haven't changed the rims yet, get a set of AMG 6.3 rims, they look very sharp! or else widen the front track to match the rear.

Maxwell ... i am not getting you. Why would you want to widen the front after spending so much money on a proper staggered setup ?

I'm more interested in widening the front rims to help reduce the plowing effect in tight cornering.

i understand the economical standpoint as far as the interior, but i just don't like the red much anymore. besides it will only cost me maybe $200 more for the complete reupholster of the seats. the wheels have been changed 3 times now lol currently running 20 x 9 front on 30 series tires and 22 x 10 in the rear they have been spaced appropriately now and actually the rear offset was right its the front offset that's different due to the added width of the wheel but i fell in love with the rims and i'm sticking with them. as for the grille i do agree it looks like complete poop on there now and i love the donoutwest one but i'm not sure if i'll go for the black i might just get the brushed to match the wheels a lil subtle but it will still stand out plus it will go with all the other brushed pieces. speaking of witch has anyone ever removed the front emblem entirely? i'd love to 86 that thing too much bling and its just to bulky for my liking. i also thought of smoothing the hood after seeing how nice it looks, i think it would give it a really smooth overall appearance, keeping the spine of course (thoughts?). you guys really think i should recover the head liner in alacantra/suede, i'm worried that might be a lil ott? no one has anything on the nos or cry o2 thoughts? that's my biggest if right now. maybe just a 2 stage nitrous setup with both tanks in the trunk area? i'll try to sketch a pic of what i'm thinking and post it later. i just want everything to look like it belongs there. after thinking about it i dont think i'm going to do the 2 screens in the visors, they would just be way too small to be useful at all, thanks for the suggestion on that but i do believe i'm going to put the center vent flip out in so i can have navigation and its a great area to do it because it doesn't block anything and is easily viewable. i might reposition some other vents on the sides of the dash if possible but its really tight in there. think about this luxury cars are not really "blinged out" many subtle features that capture the eye after looking at it a lil while right? so here is my thought process for the motor... paint the block, maybe a charcoal gray something understated but it will stand out in the black engine compartment, polish smooth, the intake manifold valve cover and other aluminum bit then give them a brushed finish, the cai which is polished, brush that too, brushed grille in front pulley kit, brushed as well, make a couple caps for my coolant washer fluid brake master cylinder reservoir, power steering all out of aluminum and brushed braided hoses... not the chrome loom stuff the hei stuff you know... no engine cover, probably polish and brush the alternator and p.s. pump but over all a clean classy look do you guys think this would be good or do you have any other ideas???

ah the tendancy of staggered setups understeering is very noticable at times ... i would hope to solve this with changing the sway bar setup... but i get your idea very much now. good deal ... would love to have the car swing the *** end out just a tad when needed but the combination of the traction control/stability control and suspension are agaisnt that.

don't try polishing the intake manifold ... it is too high maintenance ... been there done that on one of my projects. if you still decide for it get it clear powder coated after polishing.

my choice for this engine ? wrinkle red powder coat for the valve covers and wrinkle black for the intake manifold ... i'm going to get the powders in a few months and see how it looks ... right now i only have gloss black, electric blue, and silver ... none of which i would want to put on the crossfires engine bay (left over from my jeep).

the suade/alacantra is not over the top i think ... its smooth and soft which lends itself to luxury very nicely. you can always balance it out with leather on the door panel inserts and part of the seats.

What kind of time and money is involved in switching out an interior?
I've been advised that to get the inside/outside combo I want, I'm better off buying the exterior blazing red and then waiting for a cedar/black interior to put in as opposed to buying car with interior and then repainting.
Thoughts??

the problem with the powder coat on the block is that i would have to strip it down to the bare block right??? i don't have that kind of time. now as for the clear powder coat, i had never heard of a clear before but i will most likely do it, most engine enamel clears turn yellow and i know how hard it is to keep up on the oxidation on bare aluminum. thanks!!!

so now i'm looking at redoing the headliner, reupholstering the seats and door panels, redoing the c pillars, i'm going to have 1 6x9, 1 6.5, and 1 4" amplified component in each as well as a possible tweeter. replacing the kicker 6.5's in the doors for rs models, adding another 6.5 into the kick plate on pass. and driver side. 2 10'' kicker solo's shallow truck style in sealed boxes behind each seat, new tweeters in the doors i'll need 3 more amps for the subs 1 more amp for the components, i'll have 2 kicker l7 instead of the 1 i have now and they will be in ported boxes instead of sealed. all of the components will be amplified another yellow top battery 3 more caps an over drive pulley on the alternator... this **** is goona be sweet inside!!! and i'm thinking of using a charcoal gray metallic on the center console and getting the chrome surrounds from ctd for all the switches then brushing them to match all the other brushed stuff, but with all this i might stick with the red interior, change out all the lights to audi red but do a really dark red leather perforated on the doors not on the seats with black suede inserts on the seats... i'm growing more fond of this idea (thanks guys) and then painting the block red with all the brushed stuff still. all in all so far i'm looking at about 4 grand with that maybe 5k. plus a respray at 1k, grille at $500, body mods another $500, exhaust work for true duals another 500, nitrous with all parts and pieces 1k, ecu flash $500, another hid kit for the high beam with 30k ballasts $300. so all in all... around $9,500 to 10k before spring and the show season... that's rough but i'll make it work... wow i'm gonna be busy lololol. anybody wanna buy an 11 sec celica??? lol.
