Default Need help on how the alarm activates.

Just today someone took a bat to my windshield, driver side window, and the little window behind it.

What exactly triggers the alarm? I thought the windows / windshield would trigger the alarm but I guess not.

OUCH...wow that sucks!!! Sorry to hear that.

As far as I know the only thing that will set off the alarm is someone trying to open a door, hood, or trunk when it's locked. Or if someone tries to hotwire it.

Oh yea...also...if the key is in your pocked and you bend over to wipe on some fresh wheel dressing...and you accidentally bump the panic button on the key...but this only happens when you're in the garage with the door closed!

BTW...who did you **** off, and was she worth it?

ah okay. i just know that i acidentally set off the alarm so many times over the stupidest stuff that it suprised me that it didn't go off that time.

here's the long story: lol

a girl broke up with her boyfriend like 2 months ago, because he had a sexual relationship with a teacher in high school for like 6 months. (yes, it's crazy.).

anyways, last night i asked her out on a date and we went to a nice dinner, and afterwords got ice cream. we met up with another couple who are our close friends and went out to the movies. Meanwhile this ex-boyfriend was out getting hammered and decided that it would be a good idea at 2:20 am to come to my house and smash my windows. By the time I realized what happened (I was sleeping) at 3 am when my brother went home, it was to late and nobody saw him. the police came and said "we're screwed and to suck it up."

he also smashed the girls back window on her car. mind you, his mother paid the $200 for hers to get fixed the same morning. she said she'd pay for mine but nothing has happened yet. we got an estimate of $600 for the windshield / driver window, but my father didn't know about the little window / bent frame on the little window.

Yup that sucks...I think women have been involved in the demise of more windows and tires than anything else!

I knew there was a story there!

nox1s, that stinks.
Idiots are everywhere.
Be sure to watch your back with this guy running around.

If needed, perhaps we could round up a Xfire posse.

retaliation would get me nowhere. it would go back and forth and no one would win.

it's funny how the law always seems to protect the guilty though.

so right ... if you smash his windows now the cops will come after you because you must have done it since you placed a report a few days prior and mentioned this is who you think did that to you.

hahah ... been there before ... had cars keyed about five or six times ... you start buying crappier cars then to park on the street and choke the a$$hats with and park the xfire in the garage. mine is a '87 wrangler... just got the garage.

nox1s sorry about the car, when I had my celica people that were friends of the brother of the girl I was dating (they all had crushes on her) keyed my car, flattened a tire, and poured coke on the car.

As for the gang,
It will be the first time more than 100 XF's will be seen together. I'm in!

Old old thread

Sorry I never posted a picture.. just found this one after I was just browsing..

Photo3.jpg

It sorta looks fake or a toy car, it was a picture from an instant camera printed, then I took a picture of the picture on my laptop webcam...

Yes, there's no driver side window. To be honest looking @ it now I sorta laugh and say "wow that's a ton of damage".. but at the same time it makes me cry a little and I definitely wasn't laughing when it happened.

How I contemplated going back after this son of a.. so many times, but in the end I figured it was not worth it. Car is back on it's feet & looks good. Life is up & down, and now i'm back up!

BTW that really is the driver side, my webcam acts like a "mirror" so it's reversed.

Picture taken from my iPhone...!

Did you get reimbursed?
Did it get fixed correctly without any problems?
Did you get to keep the girl?
Did the bad guy get his just deserts?

Sorry to hear that, I hope the insurance will take care of it.

So I guess there is no "vibration" sensor in the alarm like others...

That sucks but at least he didn't hit the body panels.

That psycho could have made it 100x worse for you.

True, to a sense. Hard to see in the pictures but he actually bent the window seperator frame between the driver & little window.

The girl I did end up getting but that was definitely not worth it so I put her back into the ocean.
