Default So quiet at 80 mph

I can't figure out how the car does it, but the coupe is Lexus quiet at 80mph at just under 2800rpm and the throttle cracked in cruise. This despite the fact that the suspension is so tightly sprung just amazes me. With the radio quietly playing good music, this car is a very relaxing place to be.

Aside from the wind noise I would have to agree. I am always suprised at how little road noise comes through with the large wide wheels.

Just as quiet at 125, but that was on a closed track, driven by a professional stunt driver !

maybe its just my car but I don't find it to be noticeably quiet when I am at those speeds? I get a lot of wind noise especially from where the glass window meets the door seal. I wonder if my seal has worn some? I have an '04

I have to agree with Sonoronos. I have an 06 cpe. that is just as quiet. Serial # approaching 66000. If nearing the end of the run means they got the seals right, then that would account for the pleasure ride at these speeds.

I know on the Roadster (I guess with the soft top as opposed to a metal roof) once the spoiler goes up, it sound like flaps extedning on a Cessna. I can hear the wind. But the noise has been since zoned out. Kinda peaceful

Does the red warning light illuminate on the spoiler override switch? It could be the malfunction of the spoiler discussed on pages 83 - 84 of the owners manual.

I've got my spoiler turned off (by installing an on/off switch) so my warning light comes on at 65 mph and stays on until I turn the car off. But the warning alarm doesn't go off until around 90 mph.
So even if Racoom's spoiler wasn't working at all, I don't know why his alarm sounds at such a low speed.

I was indeed having issues with my spoiler going up and down, or not at all, but I took it in and got it fixed, I assumed this was what was causing the issue. the spoiler is now fixed and the alarm still sounds, the red light on the spoiler button, however, no longer comes on.

In my '05 Coupe, even at high speeds, I find the amount of wind and road noise to be unnoticable. Especially with the radio on.

The SRT-6 isn't as quiet. I have the minor wind noise issue around the window that i haven't gotten fixed yet, but the SRT-6 exhaust has slightly more bite and you can hear the engine and exhaust a "little" bit at those speeds, but there is almost no road noise. Still very pleasant. I like the low hum of the machine doing it's thing. Reminds me of the slumbering beast waiting to be unleashed under the hood...

I too am surprised. I just bought an 07 Automatic. I hadn't really opened it up. Well, still haven't but did get the chance to experiment. While putting along on cruise control (65 MPH) I spied a full mile of open highway ahead of me, I floored it, shifted into 4th and effortlessly accellerated to 115 or so before I backed off. STABLE and QUIET with no signs of backing off the accelleration curve. I'm beginning to believe the 153 top speed I've been reading about.

Cheers

153 is not a problem.
I have confirmed that on a couple of occasions
