You know what guys; I'm sort of glad. This car has been in limbo from the very get go. While a great car it has been a very well kept secrete. It wasn't discontinued, but it also wasn't in the plans for future models. If they would continue to make them, it would only keep depreciating further. The best thing for us XF loyal owners is this. Now demand will catch up with supplies, and therefore hold it's value much better. It's a unique car, and this will make it more unique.
I think there are a lot of fat guys out there that would never fit in the Crossfire like they may in the Vette or Camarooos! The new Challenger will be made in the 100,000s all engines and Hemi too! Time will tell in about 5-10 years how they fare in car history, but remember gas will be $10 bucks a gallon by then and we'll all be on the bus!
FP I agree with you. Remeber no one car is for everyone in any event, so the Crossfire, like so many other specialized cars should have a limited production. The reason we bought the car is we just really enjoy it. I'd of liked a Viper, but that wasn't a good choice when you look at price, insurance and maintance. Not to mention TICKETS
We sure hope that we'd get our purchase price out of it if we had to sell it, but we bought it to enjoy and we are already seeing a "profit" by meeting many very nice [forum] people. Happy Holidays
Is there any way one of you can find out about this "last car" and track where it ends up? It would be interesting to see who buys it.

I just bought a new 2007 Crossfire Ltd Coupe and I love it; particularly at the current " fire-sale " prices ( $12K to 15K off msrp/sticker ).
I've owned a Lotus Esprit Turbo, an E55 AMG Mercedes, a couple of Saleens and too many Corvettes. So, I think I am qualified to compare the Crossfire to other sports cars.
Two-seater sports cars appeal to a very limited market and once the initial demand is met the premium prices tend to drop dramatically. For example, the recent Ford Thunderbird, which was a very nice car.
I can't really think of any other current cars, which can truly go 150 mph, that can be bought brand-new for around $25K.
If interior room, comfortable seats and cup holders are your thing, you wouldn't have liked the Lotus Esprit, either, at 3X the price.

the 900+- srt6 cabs WILL BE a collectible. maybe they already are.
that low of production ensures it.
the others? maybe not so much.

The Crossfire has no pedigree, no racing history, no awards, no accolades, and really, only one positive article written about it when it won a comparo against a BoxterS and a Nismo Z. I think it will fade into the back ground and prices will continue to decline. I know, this is negative, but I'm playing the Devil's advocate.
At the end of the day, the Crossfire is not a groundbreaking car in anyway. The styling is its most unique feature, and time will tell how it ages.
I think the thing that will keep people away from the cars will be the inability to get competent service or parts, at ANY price. It's difficult enough now to get good service and parts, as expensive as they can be, while the cars were in production.
5-10 years from now they will be high cost to maintain headaches.

Since the last VIN was 76047...does that mean there were only 76,047 buildt....or were the ones that went to countries other than the USA get some other kind of production # /ID ?
Mine is called an '07 vin # 7X072575 and on the door says produced March of '07. Does 8X mean some will be called 2008 models?
So between March & December 17th 2007 they only produced about 3500 cars......wonder how many will be called '08s? (If any).
