Cool TPMS reset after dead battery

Last weekend I did that one stupid thing that I yell at my kids about - I left my interior light on. Wednesday morning my baby was "locked" in the garage. She was nose in with a dead battery. As some of you might know, you cannot shift out of park if there is no juice to activate the little switch that locks the drive selector. So, after chaining some 8' jumper cables (yes I know the danger) I was able to get enough power to put her in neutral and push her out of the garage. Then I properly jumped her (no jokes please) and was able to head off to work.

The problem - every time I do kill the battery (yes it's happened more than once), the dang TPMS stays on. I have to take it to the dealership to get them to reset it.

Question - is there ANY way to get the TPMS reset without having that $2500 tool or paying $$$ to a dealership? I don't mind paying for my mistakes - it's suppose to help prevent repeating them, but the dealership charges way too much. I have seriously thought about the black tape solution.

Default Re: TPMS reset after dead battery

I recently did this as well...but it was on purpose. I removed the Battery for about 30min when I was cleaning the engine bay and left the battery out while I went back inside to eat a sandwich. When I put the battery back in my TPMS are now not working.

Quick question....how much did the dealership charge to fix this for you?
