Houston Area xFire Drivers
Hi All Houston Area xF Drivers,
I am looking to find Houston area xF drivers. I thought we might get together for a cruise and lunch (just a few of us local XFs). I am thinking about hosting a Houston area "xF Rally" and would like 2 or 3 local xFs to help. xFire drivers reply then we can see who is around. Reply here on the forum. If you are interested in helping out let me know. Private Message here or to gfgolden@aol.com.
First pass of ideas for locations for crusie and rally with the full group of drivers here on the Gulf Coast include:
San Jacinto Momument, Battleship Texas, Boliver ferry, Galveston beach, Kemah boardwalk (great seafood), Woodlands Mall and scenic tour, NASA,
and possible time trials at a local track (I have access to a track). Also, I am in a sailing club and have a sailboat and access to other boats and skippers. So we might add a sail in the Houston Tour. Photo ops all along the trail.
Rally dates to be determined 1st or most likely 2nd quarter 2008.
Thanks,
George
PS: I know this belongs in the South Section but more readers will see it here. If you admin guys will leave it here a few days I appreciate it.
PS2: Any of you other xF rally organizers have any ideas to share please email me direct. What worked good and what not to do.

Update for track: Available track days for time trials are listed in the link (any Clobberthon date we will have to pick one). I have an offer for free passes to xF Drivers and passenger. Plan would be to make this a photo opt on the track and friendly get together on our Cruise around Houston and the Gulf Coast. Family friendly event.

Note: the track has been closed for winter and is opening up next week.
www.hotrodgossip2.com The track is Houston Motorsport Track (1/8 mile), this is a neat track. http://www.houstonmotorsportspark.com/
So all you area xF drivers that want a good photo of you going fast and cars lined up at the track here is your chance. More details to follow as the Houston Area xF round up!
Thanks,
George

Hey thanks for your reply. I think the cool weather has the local xF drivers mum for now. But I am still working on this. I see xFs usually a few per week near the Galleria area so I know we have some here. I am going to look for other forums. Any of you long timers know of other xF forums so maybe I can post the Houston rally?

I live in the Tyler area and would be interessted in coming down for your gettogether. I spent 12 years in the Baytown area and am familiar with all the sites you have listed. San Jacinto park would be a great place for a spring meeting and cookout.
I live in The Woodlands and would like to get involved in a Crossfire group. There are a number of Crossfires in and around The Woodlands as I see them all of the time.
If we could get started then I believe the word would get out and there would be a number of interested owners.
George, count me in! Just post details of where and when. Thanks.

Ok all, thanks for the reply. I will be sticking to my guns with some of you helping to make this a new fun event, Crossfire Club so to speak. I am currently taking a class to get my USCG Captains License and pretty tied up until next week.
I propose meeting next Thursday night at Joe's Crab Shack on Richmond @ 5:45 PM to get to meet as many as can make it. I have a sailing Club meeting there each week at 7:00 PM. If you can make it let me know. If not next week I will look for a upcoming Saturday so a few us can make a planing meeting. I have plenty of time to do most of the work, it will be more fun to have a few of us make it all of our event.
Thanks
George if you can make next Thrusday let me know.

I am happy to see a new Crossfire club forming in eastern Texas. I hope to see more clubs in all areas of Texas. Looking forward to having annual GTG's.
