I just bought a 2005 Dr Gray crossfire limited with 25,000 miles, the car is load even with GPS nice car. I thought I was getting a great deal, but now after looking here these cars have no resale value. Why?

They are great cars!
They just have a limited group of people to want them and a large pool of cars all going after the same people. Chrysler didn't advertise them right and critics don't give them a chance.

Now the FUN begins.

 

Don't believe the people on here who say they have no resale value. So many people on here try to lowball you just because dealers are selling with lots of cash back.

Just enjoy the car for now and use blue book values later. And ignore people who sit there and tell you that you are asking too much. After all, what business is it of theirs. They don't have a crossfire and you do. End of story.

 

The Crossfire is a great car that for some reason doesn't sell well - new or used. Whatever the reason may be you probably did get a great car at a very reasonable price. Just don't look to resell it anytime soon.

 

The main problem is the Chrysler name plate. If it had the Mercedes badge, it would be a sought after car, but not to be. Resale is complete crap!! Plan on keeping your car for a very long time! I traded a low milage G35 Coupe and now I'm regretting it a little bit. I could have purchased my dream car with the high resale value of the G if I had waited until it was completely paid off before I traded it in on my SRT. I didn't know though. I thought it was a fluke that I was able to get a 46k dollar car for 24k, so I jumped on it only to discover that I had just lost about 20 grand in resale value. OUCH! to say the least. Now I'm just going to enjoy my car for a very, very long time and try to forget about my dream car.

Congrats on your Crossfire i've had great cars, 91 NSX, SC 400, 65 mustang 2+2 etc, now have my SRT6. Crossfires are great and unique !

 

your car will resell for 13K OR SO IF LUCKY, but most of use buy them for the look of them...I really have no plans on selling this one...ever...

 

Just stick Mercedes badges on it and you can resell it for 23k.

 

I have a few: Aston Martin V8 Vantage, M3 (new one), 911, etc.

I was planning on keeping my G35 for another 2 years then trading it in on one of those cars. I've done quite well with some investments, but not well enough to buy one of those cars without the extra cash I was counting on for the G. The resale on those are very high. It would have been around 22 grand at least, probably more with the low milage I was keeping. I knew the Xfire was a niche vehicle, but I assumed the SRT6 was holding value. I had checked the NADA and KBB values, but they don't show the true market value. Heck, they still list about 10 grand higher than actual value. Oh well, if I have to be stuck with a car for a while, it might as well be one like the SRT6.

the numbers on this car do not make any sense ... so please don't try to make any of it.

or you can panic and go trade it in for a honda 2000 honda civic before the the value drops any more ... should be about equal or you may need to drop some cash on that trade.

i have a 87 wrangler i am restoring that i can sell for 6k at this time based on a few offers .... there are 97 - 00 TJ wranglers that sell for less .... now thats something that does not lose value as the buyers value it for its capability.

but when a cars worth is based on something as fickle as the buyers shallowness ... the badge on it has alot to do with its value cause when it is mentioned in whispers but overheard by the owner their ego shatters.

i just put a magnaflow cat back on mine ... sounds better than i expected ... can't wait to finish the carbon fiber intake box..

 

BIG Life hint: Obsessing about the value of a car depreciating is not going to make you any more wealthy.

Spend as much time worrying about your appreciating investments as you do your Crossfire's value and you might actually make some money, lol...

Start your own business so you can lease all your cars as a tax deduction so you never have to worry about depreciation ever again!

There's the advice, the big question is who is going to take it?

 

I like my car and love to drive it. When or if I trade it in is when I will worry about what it is worth. Take a look at the C5 Corvettes the values are dropping too. If you really want to take a look at values take a look a the dealers with the full size trucks. Our local dealer as knocking off 10k off the price along with the makers deals. If you got this car as a stock option and not to drive good luck..... you will need to wait about 30 years to see an big increase in value.

Yeah, not accurate, true market value. "New" SRT6s are going for 21-22 grand. New std. Crossfires are selling for 17 and 18 grand.

 

Crossfires do drop in value very fast, like a rock. But drive the car, have fun with it and the values do catch up over time. Remember, KBB online is just a guide and not a very good one at that. Edmunds has yet to be right about market values. If you do keep the car stock and decide to sell it down the road, make sure to get rid of it before the 7/70 is up.

 

Funny my x just bought a SRT conv with super low miles for under 20K otd

 

We have an '05 Limited coupe w/ 24,000 miles on it for sale @ $13,999. Real money on that '04 is probably worth 10-11 on trade depending on what it might need. (Tires, etc.)
