My experience with the RSX is the rear lets go way to soon for it to be considered a real sports car. The S2000 would be a hard car to drive a daily commute but is the real thing.

you have to be kidding I had a RX8 and that car is super slow, and who wants to keep putting oil in every three fill ups......not me! oh and there is no way the 8 is even close to a crossfire in speed......

did you have an auto? I haven't driven an auto RX-8, but I understand they're dogs.

A 6-speed manual RX-8 however is every bit as fast as a 6-speed manual Crossfire...faster once the road starts to curve.

And a half quart of oil every now and then is no big deal.

I had stick, and it was soooo slow it was not funny, and half quart more like a quart every 3 fill ups, a pain in the butt loved the look all black with black and red leather and navi package,,,,,put te car was not what i would call fast or dependable.

The crossfire's low end torque make s a WORLD of difference as far as daily performance goes. Downside is the gas mileage suffers a bit compared to an S2000.

And I also shift under 2,500 RPM most of the time.

well, it may have felt slow due to the lack of torque, but the stopwatch doesn't lie

I think that a lot of poeple drive the 8 and don't understand that you have to use the powerband. I lot of time when I have let friends drive it they don't use the upper RPM band were the car makes its power. With the lack of torqure you can't shift at 5,6,or even 7K and get the most out of the car. You have got to be willing to take it to 9K +. . Like I said I drive both often back to back on the same roads under the same condition and the 8 is faster, yes only slightly, off the line. But in the curves the 8 leaves the XF. However, they are both great cars and I am bless to have both. The XF looks better than the 8 and I love the torqury feel of the V6. I feel certian that the XF will be a very colectable car in years to come as many of the few that were made hit crushers and junk yards. The ones that remain will be very desireable. With the price that they can be had they are a great value.

As for the oil issue, the rotary is designed to burn oil in the combustion process. As long as you are aware of this to me it is no different that putting gas in the car. Its just the stuff that makes it go!

And last Are those your legs ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point. The s2000 is very similar. It is like driving a Civic until you get up into the revs.
My old Prelude was similar as well. <5k rpm it was blah, >5k rpm it was nice.

I agree 100% on the AC. I seems to be a Mazda theme.
