Traction/esp
I was driving up a very steep hill last night in about 3 inches of snow.
As the car was going up the hill(2nd gear clutch fully out)the TC/ESP light
was prety much on the whole time.
I have a few ?'s about this.
1. When I turn off(press the skiding car icon) what turns off/delays?
2. Am I hurting the car in any way when its strruggling to get up a hill and the TC is going crazy.
3. I was wondering if the TC was actually hindering me geting up the hill?
There wasnt that much snow and I have snow tires didnt see a need fo TC to intervebe so often.

When you turn off the skidding car switch you're turning off the stability program that helps keep the car going straight when the tires want to make it go sideways as the car doesn't have a limited slip diff. Doesn't hurt anything if it's not on but you probably got up the hill safer and straighter than you would have had you switched it off. Mine went on twice yesterday just starting from a standstill on about one inch of snow. In the owner's manual it says to turn it off if you get stuck in snow so you can rock the car out.
