Sorry man, I'm not a car repair technician. It sounds to me like your power steering isn't doing its job. Have you checked for a leak? If there's no leak, then it's either the seals on your rack gone bad, the power steering pump is bad, or the belt isn't turning the power steering pump pulley.

If there is a leak, then one of your power steering hoses probably needs to be replaced.

I'm not sure what you're worried about. If your car is fu**ed up, then it's going to get fixed one way or another and you're probably going to pay for it. Whether you can do it yourself for less money is up to you.

Where the hell is MTL anyways? Memphis Tennesse Land? Mount Laurel? Montreal?

They were both purchased used so I didn't pay much more than that. It really doesn't matter to me what they would sell for because I have no interest in selling. Not for many years.

 

Pentosin hydraulic fluids are specific to DB, BMW and VW/Audi. Buy it at a foriegn car parts store or from a dealer. Quite expensive ....

 

OK, dude, venting is venting, but you repeatedly ignore everyone's advice. Now you are ignoring my advice and therefore you are starting to get on my nerves.

Let us know if your angry rants end up fixing your problem.

 

Also, how many times will you have to check your power steering fluid level before you believe us when we say it's not your issue?

Bad P/S pump, bad steering rack, bad P/S lines. Pick one or more of the three.

I'm not sure how this thread turns from people genuinely trying to help and turning into a mud-slinging match with the poster starting to criticize the car and bashing the same people who are trying to help.

I've owned a total of 8 Chrysler cars in the last 10 years, 3 of which are current which includes a very early 04 Crossfire, 07 Pacifica Ltd AWD and an 08 300C AWD.

My experiences are great and when there are problems as the old-timers in this forum will know from my postings, the problems have been solved beyond my expectations.

As with any product, some people will have good experiences and some will have bad ones, sometimes its the product, sometimes is the people, but we should try to never paint things with broad strokes.

If the car is going to go off lease soon and you have no intentions to keep it, the smart thing would be to do enough to ensure that it passes the hand-back check and move on.

No need to beat up the people who started really trying to help nor beat up the car which you've driven for at least a couple of years.

The 5k in repairs? If I just go on your messages alone, you've leased the Crossfire and unless you're leasing an out-of-warranty used car (unlikely due to age of the Crossfire fleet), the car should be in warranty. So if it isn't warranty repairs or if you chose not to have proper Chrysler mechanics work on the car, perhaps the issue is clear.

That said, the Crossfire isn't a winter car and I go to Montreal very often and I would absolutely never drive my Crossfire there in winter. Interestingly, the reason why I got my 300C AWD to replace my 300C RWD was exactly for commuting to Montreal in the winter.

Well, no question that you have a bad experience and as you have admitted yourself, many items on your list isn't the car's fault but more an effect of poo happening around you.

Sometimes, certain things just have bad karma.

Your bad experiences are not unique, I'm sure there are others who have the same frustrations with their cars, regardless of make or model.

Generally, this forum has a bunch of good people and I think our fault is sometimes being too eager to help and having great passion about our Crossfires.
