Default 5 trips to dealer for seat heaters???

My drivers side seat heater wasn't working so I took the car in to have them look at it.
The dealer agrred to fix and ordered parts.

Since then I have been to the dealer 4 more times with each time they claim more parts need to be ordered.
After the 3rd time they claimed a whole new seat cover had to be ordered.
Then after that they clain still more parts.
Each time the story changes; this may be an outright lie or just incompetence.

Is the seat really that complicated they keep ordering wrong parts?

My personal take is they just don't want to fix it(cost?).

-a total of 1 month waiting and 5 days at the dealer (one day to diagnose, 2 days to try to install the wrong heater, and one day to install the correct one after wainting a month for it to come in) to have my bottom driver's side seat heater fixed. i was wondering the exact same thing.

Cool Re: 5 trips to dealer for seat heaters???

The only way to fix the seat(s) on the first try is to totally replace each seat component ( back and/or bottom).

yea Ii took a few trips to different dealers to get the heated seat fixed as well.

It took me 2 trips to the first dealer, which they resetted the computer and told me it is working normal (Bull Sxxx)

And it took me total of 4 trips to the second dealer, which they installed a new seated element to the seats and fixed the problem, but they messed up with my seat belt buckle sensor, and so they need to order more parts to fix the buckle.

I just got mine back today for a driver's seat repair ( 1/2 day job turned ito 2 days, OK I guess they gave me a PT Cruiser to drive, did not like that!). Tried it on the way home. The back of the seat gets hot quick, the butt part doesn't seem much different.
I guess I'll test it for a day or 2. My question to you folks, should I be feeling the same amount of heat from butt and back ? Is the back getting ready to go? or did they not hook up the butt right ?

According to the paper work, they:
"Replaced switch & seat element OK now"
Parts ordered:
KIT NONE 23108015
SWITCH HE 8053002

I've got 3 weeks left on warrenty, then go to ex. warrenty

My 3rd trip.
First trip for diagnosis.
Second trip to replace both bottom heaters. Passenger side fixed, drivers side not.
Third trip, been in the shop for 3 days (driving a PT) and hoping to get it back today.

We will see.

Both butt and back should heat up at the same speed, with the same amount of heat. But usually I feel the butt is even warmer because my jacket is thicker than my pants.

My seat heaters took 4 trips and 2 different dealerships, they finally got it right and they have been working correctly for the last month, longest time so far. The drivers side back was always giving me trouble and never worked correctly, but so far it has been working ok. The bottom and back seat heater should heat up at the same time and about the same temperature, mine are pretty even now. and the passenger side seat heaters also heat up at the same time and same temperature when turned on. I forgot to add, the last trip for the seat heater issue took 2 weeks, while they ordered parts-
