Snaptint, any experience?
Has anyone had any experience with Snaptint? They say they pre-cut the pieces, and then you just have to install them. The kit is only like 60$, which isn't bad at all.. Would you recommend it as a DIY??
If not, has anyone gotten their windows tinted (well duh, I guess.) If so, how much did you pay and what did you get ??
I am looking around and trying to get a good idea what some reasonable prices are, I only want 50% or 35% tint on all my windows..

the car had 20% on it when i got it and i added another layer of 5%...SUPER DARK!...the 5% only cost $80 installed, out the door..both sides, the 2 little triangle windows, rear window and a 6" strip across the front.
I would NOT recommend doing a DIY tint install because there is no real way to perfectly install tint, it is not an intake or a pulley.. its more like cooking or painting.. and if you dont have skills at either of these is your creation will be an abomination.. you also don't know how accurate the pre-cut tint will be...
I had my tint installed at Lorenzo tint which is a pretty well known tinter in the New York area, various well known people have gotten their tints their as well.. It cost me $330 and I had the sides and rear tinted at 35% and the front windsheild at 50%.. the type of tint used was a hybrid to create a mixture of longevity without harming radio reception.. It is not exactly the cheapest price, but the tint was top notch and the job was done exceptionally well.. in the old country there is a saying "the cheap man pays twice"
there are a few pictures in my gallery, but they are not very high quality..

I just got mine tinted. 50% at the rear, and 35% at the tiny little corners on both sides. I paid $140 to have it done professionally with the new 3M film.
I did a little research and stayed away from the cheapy tint, as some of them turns purple over time, and some will get air bubbles tripped if not installed professionally.

I'd stay away from that. When I tried to do my windows on my last car, it took me a couple tries to get it right. Then the cheap tint faded so i needed to get it redone anyway. Your better off going somewhere to have it done, because this kit gives you one try, and if you mess up youll be paying as much as you would to get it done. I paid 200 for my eldorado, but it came with a lifetime guarantee. I think 140-200 is what you should expect to pay.

Just my Dos Cenatvos !
mine is lifetime warranty as well....had the limo tint from the same company on my srt-10 with no problems, and all the cars before that as well...like everyone else said, research and have professionally installed...and dont take anything less than a lifetime warranty
I'm pretty handy but there is no way I would attemp to tint myself. Unless you really know what your doing and have lots of experiance under your belt, you're better off paying a pro.
i 2nd the overwhelming motion to have it professionally done! warranty and they will have the whole car done in less time than it will take you to do 1 window lol, could you imagine trying to do those tiny side windows... that would just agravate me to no end
$330 to tint a Crossfire????? Holy crap that is insanely expensive, even for really good stuff done by a top notch installer.
There's a place here in SoCal, Anaheim specifically, that does a lot of high end cars and even expensive homes. They have several types of tint to choose from - color, density, material composition, etc - and guarantee it for life to not peel, bubble, wrinkle, turn purple, yadda yadda. The first time I had a car tinted there was 1992 and the most recent was my Miata prior to owning the Crossfire. The Miata was about $175 out the door. I've had 6 cars done by these guys and have sent at least half a dozen people there, all of them thrilled with the outcome and service.
Xlnt Tint on LaPalma in Anaheim for any of you SoCal guys looking for a place.
